We received a call from the doctor today. My wife's blood results from this morning showed another decline—her white blood cell count had dropped dramatically, likely due to the gradual reduction of her cortisone medication. I had to take her back to the hospital, and once again, we faced the painful goodbye from her family. My daughter was inconsolable, and now, we're left alone again.
We're hoping it won't be as long this time. It’s heartbreaking, but we're grateful for the two good weeks we had together.
