The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants like Cyclops, Storm, and Beast, they were mentioned by Star-Lord in Ultimate Spider-Man when he made mention of Earth's superheroes.
In Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers, they help Akira and his friends reach Loki's base in the North and fought the Sentinels while the kids went on ahead.
The X-Men were created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Paul Reinman.
Trivia
- The X-Men have a film franchise since 2000, made by 21st Century Fox, making them the longest running superhero film franchise without a reboot. Despite being characters created by Marvel Comics, they could not be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, due to the rights being owned by Fox. However, prior to the Walt Disney Company's acquisition of 21st Century Fox, they could not be included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Marvel Animated shows due to the rights being owned by Fox at the time.
- With the announcement that the next Deadpool film will be set in the MCU,[1] it is expected that the X-Men team will make their first official MCU appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine.
