Blind Al (real name Athea) is a Marvel Comics character who appears in Deadpool & Wolverine. She is one of Wade Wilson's closest friends and his roommate.
Blind Al was created by Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness.
Background[]
Blind Al became blind at a young age and soon befriended Wade Wilson and agreed to be roommates with him. She soon learnt about his life as Deadpool.
Personality[]
Al is wise, due to her old age, and quite sarcastic. The perfect comedic foil to Deadpool.

Blind Al appeared in this film, with Leslie Uggams reprising her role from the Fox films. Blind Al appears to still be the roommate of Wade Wilson and is there for him when Vanessa Vanessa breaks up with him in 2018. Six years later in 2024, Blind Al attends Wade's birthday party when some TVA agents arrive to arrest Wilson for his actions with time travel from the second film, While Blind Al does not appear again for majority of the film, she does ask Wade if he wants to do some cocaine which he declines because of Disney. Blind Al is then seen again at the end of the film when Deadpool returns from the Void to Earth-10005, where the party continues and Al meets Logan/Wolverine, whom she welcomes warmly.

- Blind Al in the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues the live-action incarnation of the character from 20th Century Fox's X-Men film series, who was portrayed by Leslie Uggams.
- In the first two films, Blind Al was portrayed as a cocaine addict, which was downplayed heavily for the third film following the franchise’s integration into the otherwise PG-13 MCU. According to Deadpool, Kevin Feige said that it was “off limits”.
- In the comics, Blind Al is a Caucasian British woman who was the hostage turned roommate of Deadpool, with whom she was a love-hate relationship with.
