Judge Lee was the presiding judge in a case where a county court judge in Mississippi was sued over making false claims to authorities. Judge Houston J. Patton was sued by Mississippi attorneys Keith Shelton and James Jennings Jr. because they believed the judge falsely claimed the two attorneys tried to bribe him over a complaint filed against the judge to the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance.[3] Lee dismissed the case and stated that Patton was in violation of the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments. The Fifth Circuit Court reversed Lee's decision and stated that Patton qualified for immunity.[4]
