Samuel Hale Sibley (1873-1958) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.[1]

Fifth Circuit

Sibley was nominated to the Fifth Circuit by President Herbert Hoover on December 20, 1930 to replace Richard Wilde Walker. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 13, 1931, and received commission on January 24th. On October 1, 1949, he assumed senior status. He served until his death on October 13, 1958.[1]

Northern District of Georgia

Sibley was nominated to the Northern District of Georgia by President Woodrow Wilson on July 31, 1919 to a new seat created by 40 Stat. 1156. He was confirmed by the Senate on August 5, 1919, and received commission that same day. He served on this court until January 30, 1931, when he was appointed to the Fifth Circuit.[1]
