So since I keep mentioning it, I thought I would post in more detail about how I am using the Pomodoro Technique. You can read about the basics on Wikipedia, but in short, you pick a task, set a timer, and work with serious focus on that task for 25 minutes (that's a pomodoro, named after the kitchen timer that looks like a tomato), then take a 5 minute break. Every four pomodoros, you take a longer 15 minute break.
There's a lot more to it than that, including the theory of why this works so well, but I will leave that to Wikipedia; here I will ramble about how I implement it personally, which may give you some other ideas for how to make use of it yourselves:
( all about pomodoroing )
OK, I figure that is totally enough me rambling! Now I am off to go look at all the shiny idyllic places people posted in comments!
If you use the Pomodoro technique, tell me about YOUR customizations and stats! I would love more ideas of how to use it and how people work.
