Virion Eralith is the father of Alduin Eralith and the grandfather of Tessia Eralith. He is the former king of Elenoir, who led The Second War against the humans from the Kingdom of Sapin. Virion became the first mentor to the series protagonist Arthur Leywin after he found his way into the Elven Kingdom.

Appearance[]

Season 1: The first time Arthur sees Virion, he describes him as an old man past his prime, with sharp facial features and a gaze that could kill someone on contact. His hair is pure white and tied in the back and his face is cleanly shaven.

Personality[]

In contrast to his stoic demeanor, Virion is a very carefree, brass, and a laidback man. Though he can be serious when the situation demands it, Virion spends most of his time doing whatever he wishes without a care for public opinion. Virion is also much more open minded than other elves, holding no prejudice towards humans after The Second War as he became friends with one of them on the battlefield and even took one as a disciple. Though he is openly rude and antagonistic towards some people who deserve it, he is very kind hearted to everyone else and has always been willing to help others in need.

Background[]

During his reign as a King, Virion Eralith was considered the strongest Elf in all of Elenoir, having reached the Solid Silver Stage of his Mana Core Cultivation as well as integrated with the Beast Will of a Shadow Panther. While many women fawned over him, the only woman who ever stole his heart was his future wife Lania Darcassan. Sometime after their wedding, either before or during The Second War, they had their son Alduin Eralith.

During his reign, Virion was the one who lead his people through The Second War against the Kingdom of Sapin. During the conflict, Virion would encounter a human named Cynthia Goodsky, with whom he had fought against several times on the battlefield. Despite their opposing sides, the two became close friends during their moments of ceasefire. On one such occasion, Virion and Cynthia discussed their future plans once the war ends. Virion suggested that she should become a teacher, since he believed that she would be a great mentor to lead the future generation.

As the end of the war approached, Elenoir and Sapin began talks of a treaty between the nations. Unbeknownst to Virion, his wife Lania received premonitions of Sapin’s King (Blaine Glayder’s father) plotting to assassinate Virion. Despite the toll, the premonitions were taking on his wife, Lania continued to use her power to thwart King Glayder from killing her husband long enough for his son Blaine Glayder to stage a coup detat and kill his father, ending the war. While Lania was successful in saving her husband, the repeated use of her premonitions shortened her lifespan, causing her to die only weeks after the war. Following the end of The Second War, Virion stepped down from his position as a king and passed the throne to his son and his wife Merial Eralith. Virion would later become a grandfather, when his son’s daughter Tessia Eralith was born.
