Regis is a character that is introduced in Volume 8. He is the weapon that grew from the Acclorite in Arthur's palm, given to him by Wren Kain IV, in Volume 5 during Arthurs' training. While initially having the form of a will-o-wisp, the absorption of the mana from Arthur, Sylvie, Sylvia, and Uto during his manifestation, resulted in his personality being a mixture of all of them.
Regis' forms have developed via his aether intake from Arthur. His first form was that of a will-o-wisp which was incorporeal while also rendering Regis unable to receive physical injuries. His second form is that of a wolf with two horns, but this form makes Regis corporeal and susceptible to physical injuries. However, similar to Arthur, he is able to heal his injuries with the use of Aether.
Appearance[]
Initial Appearance - Will-O-Wisp[]
Regis was initially described as a "black will-o-wisp the size of a large marble" with a set of "sharp, pure-white eyes" and two small horns jutting out of the side of its head.
Regis in this form is intangible, but he says he feels "violated" when something travels through him.
In this form, Regis grows larger and more tangible the more aether he consumes from Arthur and from the ambient aether. It was said that his horns also seem to grow larger along with his body.
Second Form - Horned Wolf[]
Regis' second form is described as "a black wolf with horns protruding from its head, each twisting like a gnarled branch as they came to a sharp point behind its ears". In this form, Regis is more tangible and susceptible to damage, and although he does not bleed, because his entire body is made from aether, he requires aether to recover from this damage. A notable feature of this form is that Regis' body and horns grow from the amount of aether he has. Regis has said that he likes bigger horns. When Arthur asks why, Regis replied with "Why do human males like having big penises?"
Third Form - Destruction Form[]
Under the influence of the destruction rune, Regis' third form is described as him having his fur jutted out in hard spikes, gleaming like obsidian beneath the sharp-edged blades of purple flames that danced over him . His horns are sweeping spears that grew out from his temple and thrust forward like a bull’s, while rows of serrated daggers protruded out to form his fangs. While in the form however, the rune eats away at Regis causing him to become frenzied as the aspect of destruction takes over his body.
Personality[]
Regis' personality is an amalgamation of Arthur, Sylvie, Sylvia, and most importantly Uto (whos personality is more prominent, albeit "toned down" due to the other three). Regis' character is usually described as being comedic and crass, due to him absorbing most of Uto's mana, this lead to Regis having psychopathic tendencies every so often. However, Regis does have a caring side to him; which he expresses this through his desire to protect arthur and wanting to be part of a family with Alice, Arthur, Eleanor, and Sylvie.
Background[]
Regis was created from Acclorite, a mysterious mineral given to Arthur by Wren Kain IV during his training in Epheotus. Regis manifested into his first form after Arthurs' defeat while battling Nico and Cadell. Regis was prematurely grown due to Arthur becoming a half asura due to Sylvie.
Abilities & Skills[]
Mental Transmission- Regis is able to communicate via Mental Transmission to Arthur (as in speaking to each other in their heads also known as telepathy). Despite having said ability, it is also possible for Regis to communicate to other people by speaking. Regis is also able to mentally communicate with Sylvie through Arthur's bond with her, using Arthur as a connection between him and Sylvie.
Gauntlet form - Regis can enter Arthur's fist and control aether, thus creating a powerful attack which they call Gauntlet Form.
Destruction Rune - The Destruction Rune which is currently being carried by him, without it's insight, to avoid Arthur losing his sanity, can be utilized by Regis. It is said that when Regis utilizes the Destruction Rune, his form drastically changes. His most notable ability when using the Destruction Rune is that his form/body is covered in purple flames similar to Arthur when he used the Rune.
Aether Manipulation - Regis can draw aether from or into Arthur's body, which in turn helps heal him or absorb anything that might cause harm to Arthur's body or mind.
Uto's Will - Uto's Will isn't really an ability or skill. It is essentially fragments of Uto's memory that were retained by Regis when he consumed Uto's Mana. While there are no current offensive means provided by Uto's will, his memories allow Arthur and Regis to better traverse Alacrya without many issues.
Regeneration - Depending on how much ambient aether there is in the air (or in Arthur's aether core), he can recover completely which can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes, even days in worst case scenarios.
Possession - Regis is able to possess Ada in the dungeon when the mirror spirit takes control.
Durability Negation - In his first form, others can not touch him but he can touch them, Though this ability can be negated if the opponent uses aether themselves.
Destruction sword - By entering Arthur's aether sword, Regis can use the destruction rune to make it grow larger and wrapped in dark-violet flames. This prevents Arthur from going insane and destroying everything in his environment.
Flight - Regis is capable of flying by growing wings.
