Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
Dark side of the ring S2E7.
Shultz got fucked hard. Not only subject to a hit piece but after being punished for it, Vince turns back and just admits it fake.
I started watching in like 98-99 something like that. So well past the era of broken Kayfabe so the idea that anyone could watch some of these matches and think it was a real fight. Well that is surreal to me. But I get it. Like the secret code and all that.
So David Shultz should not have slapped John Stossel.
But man was it cathartic.
Fucking Stossel made it his goal to just fuck with people. He said that a poll or whatever said that 1/3 of the audience thought wrestling was a shoot fight or "real" as they call it.
I have fucked up teeth from getting broken and cracked, a dent in my chest from a broken sternum, and fucked up knee from a botched leg bar. But that's fake right?
But according to a poll I just made up 1/3 people think the moon landing was faked. You can't fucking trust your stupid polls. And if they did? Who cares. EVeryone then acts like Boxing and MMA isn't cooked in some way. Get real. When money changes hands, people cook the books.
And then Stossel was an absolute cock about the whole thing. Like dude, you're out there being a dick to a 300 lbs man who professionally lets dudes smack him with folding chairs and you want to act like that.
He shouldn't have slapped you, but you play stupid games you win stupid prizes.
What his face claiming to expose the business because he cared about the boys. I don't buy it, he came off as such a childish weasel.
While wrestling may have predetermined outcomes. it sure as hell isn't "fake". You can't fake getting dropped on your head.
This whole thing was a mess. Also I loved Hogan talking about Shultz and MR. T. Hogan, just shut the fuck up, I'm more likely to believe someone trying to sell me on Jilly Juice than you.
I actually loved this episode. It's nice to get fired up about something.
