Boy Story is the first segment of the 3rd episode in season 2 of Harvey Street Kids. The title of the episode is a reference to the famous 1995 animated Pixar film Toy Story.
Synopsis[]
Lotta tries to recover her zebra toy disguising herself as a boy.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Lotta playing with a zebra-shaped toy called Shebra (A She-Ra reference), while Dot asks about her position in a debate she has with Audrey about using a jumping pogo on a trampoline. The girls agree to put Lotta's zebra in the pogo on the trampoline in order to make her jump high. However, she jumps so high that lands in the tree house of the Bloogey Boys.
The girls want to retrieve the toy because the boys mistreat the stuffed animals by decapitating, shaving them or using them as handkerchiefs, only for Lotta, because she doesn't know if the toy served snacks, or watched a football game, or maybe they strapped it to some crackers. The girls intuit that the boys still do not see the new toy, but Melvin discovers them after he removed from Billy one of the mirrors that made them see inside the treehouse. Melvin sees the girls and starts shooting them with salivated paper balls, despite them having previously been asked to bring back her toy.
The girls conclude in disguising themselves as a boy to be admitted, with Dot and Audrey being discarded since respectively Dot could be recognized by Pinkeye and Audrey could end up joining the boys, as happened in an undercover mission with the stray cats on Harvey Street. They also cannot trust Tiny or Bobby because the Bloogey Boys don't let small people into the tree house and Bobby is not to be trusted.
Lotta pressured to have her zebra back, she prepares to disguise herself. Also, Audrey teaches Lotta how to burp the alphabet (with her accidentally farting), Dot teaches her the concept of "boy explaining" in which she interprets saying whatever comes to her mind along with interrupting even if she doesn't know how to speak about the subject in question. Then they spray her with Billy's stench and dirty clothes. Lotta leaves where the Bloogey boys get their attention by introducing himself as Otto and spitting a salivated ball into the surrounding cans, "he" also tries to convince them by saying that he often scratches his butt, farts, and eats a lunch made of raw meat along with acting roughly with them.
Lotta, in an attempt to win over the entrance to the tree house, takes the girls, threatening to drop them into a bucket full of beans and dirty shoes. The boys, however, consider this behavior barbaric and prefer to collect stickers or make jokes.
Despite admitting that she also likes doing these activities and revealing her identity, Lotta has not yet been admitted to the tree house because she is a girl. Audrey also takes advantage of freeing herself to dive into the pond, implying that she did not mind getting dirty with that substance. Even though Lotta did not recover her zebra toy, she doesn't mind because she has a good feeling that she'll be fine. Shown below is Melvin finding the zebra and giving her a new purse, while Pinkeye and Fredo do feminine activities like wearing a butterfly wing costume and collecting feminine trend stickers respectively.
