Weekend at Audrey's is the second segment of 2nd episode in season 2 of Harvey Street Kids. The title and the plot of the episode are a reference to the 1989 film Weekend at Bernie's.
Synopsis[]
Audrey breaks Lotta's mechanical pet, then pretends she can make it back alive.
Plot[]
The episode begins with a commercial of the Cuddleatures, which is promoted by having a pet without having the negative aspects of them. After watching the commercial, it is implied that they are sold out everywhere and only Lotta has one to share with Audrey and Dot. When Audrey was ordering it to exercise faster, Lotta explains that the engine of her toy Hopscotch needs several months (18 years) to be fully developed. When Lotta was going to give it some tap water to drink, Audrey puts a fizzy drink before. So the girls' HQ is flooded with bubbles and Hopscotch gets wet, but doesn't seem to get hurt. After Dot commented that Audrey does not take responsibility for her mistakes, both of them are invited by Bobby the wise to a party where all the street kids will bring their Cuddleatures. Dot and Lotta are cited by Bobby to handle the party designs and hugs respectively.
Audrey takes the opportunity for Lotta to lend her toy Hopscotch, which she ends up doing with Bobby and Dot hating the idea. In the HQ, Audrey makes a competition with Hopscotch for who bounces more on the sofa, however Hopscotch suffers from a short circuit and stops responding. When Audrey was trying to find a solution on Dot's tablet, Hopscotch probably jumps due to a command delay and falls to the ground breaking completely. Audrey watches an online tutorial from Dot sixty-eight times, but her nervousness causes her to put the toy together badly on all those occasions. In the next attempt, Lotta calls her in a video chat and Audrey manages to put Hopscotch's head next to her, giving the illusion that it's alright, meanwhile Dot has trouble choosing what to decorate with Bobby. Lotta invites them to the party and Audrey comes up using Hopscotch head as a hand puppet. Already at the meeting, Audrey lies to Lotta saying that her body temperatures were synchronized and it can wake up screaming if they get separated.
When Audrey was about to tell the truth, Bobby invites them to the party decorated with a desert where some the kids and some Cuddleatures can be seen in an inflatable pool. When Pinkeye was mentioning that Hopscotch looked bad, Audrey launches herself and Hopscotch in a cannonball into the pool. The next party is at Frufru's house whose objective is to do a dance. When Lotta and Dot question that dancing is Hopscotch's specialty, Audrey lies, saying that the public makes it nervous and stumbles over The Bow's goat toy, causing Hopscotch to drop its head, but no one sees it and Audrey despite everything continues with the lie since only one event prevents me from going home to repair it.
The last event is Bobby's doggy park, whose party is set as a dog circuit. Where Lucretia and Frufru's pets can be seen moving. Audrey pretends to say that Hop has already done its cardio exercises and acts like a dog doing the circuit for it. In the meantime, Lotta examines it, but thinks that Hop is giving her the cold shoulder because it likes Audrey more and was admitting that she was a better owner than her since she didn't yell when Hop was with her. Audrey ends up telling the truth and apologizes while sobbing. Lotta hugs her and admits that Hopscotch gave her more work than playtime since she always had to repair it. After Dot commented that the Cuddleatures were not durable based on a study she did, the rest of the kids admit that all this time they had their toys damaged. The episode ends with Lucretia having the only cuddleature intact, where she doesn't care that her toy breaks considering that everyone else has it, which ends up happening as it walks backwards.
