The Cheer Hunter is the first segment of the 7th episode in season 2 of Harvey Street Kids. The title of the episode is a reference to the 1978 film The Deer Hunter.
Synopsis[]
Audrey is jealous of Zoe because Lotta is with her group of cheerleaders, the Fighting Bananas Cheer Squad.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Lotta dancing with their rabbits for a contest called "Do you think your pet can dance?". When Audrey moved her fish Bruce out of her glass-shaped fish tank, Dot retires to talk to Bruce while saying that she will speak to her later and just then Zoe appreciates Lotta's way of dancing, while taking advantage of inviting her to her cheerleading group. Lotta likes the idea while Audrey refuses, thinking that it could be a trap which Zoe denies and proposes a morning training while giving her their respective rookie pom-poms.
Lotta is excited and Audrey pretends to be fine as long as Zoe doesn't harm her friend. The first one withdraws while Audrey tries to convince Dot that there is something strange, with Dot telling her that she is too possessive. After this, Audrey sets out to spy on her as a bodyguard while Dot watches over the rabbits, who are choosing a strange combination of clothes for Lotta.
The next morning, on three different occasions Audrey poorly disguises herself as she tries to "save" Lotta from Zoe's alleged traps, but ends up learning that nothing happened along with being scolded by Zoe. In the last instance, she accidentally causes Lotta to hold Maria and Stu into a tower position, so Zoe admires her by saying that the group can now do a new maneuver called the monkey tower.
Zoe and Lotta get along, but Maria feels somewhat sidelined as Audrey unconsciously reveals that she doesn't want them to form a friendship. Audrey approaches Maria to be together and thus take it out on being alone. During practice, Audrey announces her new friendship to which Zoe gets a little upset.
From this point, Zoe and Audrey want to get the other jealous by telling each other how much fun they have with their new friends and Zoe ends up announcing that all bananas need to be practicing including Maria, who Zoe struggles her with Audrey.
When Audrey finally tries to trade Maria for Lotta, the latter is upset saying that she is not an object, so she leaves the group saying that wanting to be cheerleader caused a sibling rivalry. Zoe and Audrey then begin to work as a team for which both in a cheerleader outfit make an apology to Lotta. After being "pomponed", Lotta makes returns to the cheerleading squad appreciating the gesture and also mentions that she will be part of the reserve as she will focus on giving Audrey's pet some training. Maria and Zoe become friends again sharing their apathetic behavior while Stu and Dot continue to ignore each other.
