The Fandom Menace is the first segment of the 6th episode in season 2 of Harvey Street Kids. The title of the episode is a reference to the 1999 film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.
Synopsis[]
After purchasing the Crush 4 You tickets, Lotta also wants to participate in a contest that can give her the opportunity to eat some empanadas with the band. However, Audrey and Dot note that there is something wrong with the contest.
Plot[]
The episode begins with Audrey and Dot playing with a ball in front of Audrey's house, where Lotta stutters up and Dot comments that she needs something to stroke, which Audrey pass her Billy the Skunk. Lotta says she got the tickets for the boy band Crush 4 You while continually refreshing the purchase page using an internet connected device on every extremity.
Lotta comments that they will be live at the Harditory Harveson, Audrey also comments that she was only able to get tickets from "Creesh 4 You", a tribute band from Lucretia wearing blue jeans. Zoe arrives on the scene saying that boy bands are for immature people and that she went to admire angst-punk bands like "My Purple Agony" while commenting that they never take tours because they are not interested.
Before continuing, Lotta mentions that the concert begins in the next month and that they must make preparations, which they end up doing in their HQ. Among the things they will bring to the concert are dyed shirts that can be inflated if one passes out, Audrey practices the screams she will make when she sees the band and Lotta for her part finds that there is a contest for all those who bought tickets while mentioning that she handles several of their wikis. The contest says that the winner will go out to eat some empanadas with the members of the band.
Lotta proceeds to make a video to compete demonstrating her interest in the band while showing various things she has done based on the band: Such as her collection of rice balls with the faces of the members, several fan fictions, including a 97 chapter saga inspired in an exclusive Japanese CD called "A smile is a kiss that your face makes", to be able to imitate the dance steps based on the uncensored version of "My book is due to the library of your heart".
Lotta submits the video, and the next morning, something similar happens to her at the beginning of the episode as she comments that she won the contest. However, she had to submit her tickets as a form of verification and both Audrey and Dot are wary of the registration method. Audrey notices Zoe kissing and hiding a ticket while commenting that her band "My Purple Agony" was on tour, which Audrey contradicts and Zoe leaves the scene saying that Audrey doesn't understand.
Lotta was choosing what kind of pie to eat as a topic of conversation. But Audrey and Dot arrive on the scene saying that Zoe ripped her off along with showing her with the Dotcopter graphic evidence of Zoe enjoying the song "My book is due at the library of your heart." They also tell her that they tried to get the ticket back but were annoyed by Zoe's music "My purple agony". Despite the fact that Audrey told Lotta that Zoe likes to cheat people considering that she "sold" her 20 acres in Montana and that Dot points out that there are misspellings in the "contest" email, Lotta does not believe them and the girls leave. For her part, Lotta discovers that the boys have not been eating gluten-based foods for 3 months, so she becomes suspicious.
At the HQ, Lotta apologizes and the girls were offering her tickets, which she does not accept. So Lotta makes a video to Crush 4U telling them to be their biggest fan, appreciating their songs while asking them for help telling them Zoe's scam, which the band and several kids from Harvey Street end up watching. Next morning, while Lotta was teaching Lucretia a dance move, Dot and Audrey tell her that the band personally dedicated a song to her and gave them 3 VIP tickets to meet them in person, which Lotta reacts by screaming with joy. Meanwhile, in Audrey's house, the sonic impulse of Lotta' scream causes Zoe to lose the ticket.

Trivia[]
- Taking into account that all the seasons of this series conclude with a "BRB" card; that the second season of She-Ra was divided in two; and the premiere of the third season of Harvey Girls Forever! Was in late 2019. There is the possibility that DreamWorks has been thinking of splitting the second season of this series in two to cover the season quota with Netflix, which is why this episode unusually concludes with this end card.
