The Core's army is a large military force made up of a group of mechanical creatures resembling aquatic wildlife created by The Core, residing inside of the red moon of Amphibia until they were needed. They were sent by the Core to fight against Anne, Sasha and Marcy, but they failed and were completely destroyed.
Appearance[]
The creatures of the Core's military force share a color scheme of dark red, purple, and gray, and featured a common eye motif in their design, resembling the Core's eyes. They come in a number of sizes and shapes that seem to be heavily inspired by prehistoric sea animals. Some of them seem to also be able to combine together to form larger and more monstrous entities when going up against powerful enemies.
Background[]
Little is known about the origins of these creatures, other than the fact they were presumably created around the time when the Core started augmenting the moon with mechanical implants. These creatures were placed in the moon, where they laid dormant for centuries, to be called upon as reinforcements for the Core in the possible scenario that its plans failed.
Over 1,000 years later, the Core retreats to the moon and attaches itself to it, gaining control of the moon, and causing it to descend to Amphibia in order to eradicate all life as its final gambit. When Anne, Sasha, and Marcy harnessing the powers of the Calamity Gems, fly up to the moon and confront the Core, the Core deploys the drones from inside the moon to defend itself. Although the creatures have the advantage of size and overwhelming number, they are no match for the girls' calamity forms as they are easily destroyed one by one, and eventually, the entire army is decimated.

Trivia[]
- The drones were based on the Uchu Kaiju/Space Monsters from Gunbuster,[1] as well as cambrian fossils, ancient fish, and tardigrades.[2]
- It's unknown why The Core kept these machines inside the moon while its plans were to crash the moon with Amphibia, it's possible its original intentions were to use the moon and its army themselves in future invasions, but that's just an assumption as it was never mentioned.

"for these guys i had the idea of making them look super primordial, like you get the sense they've been up in there for a looooong time. so a few of them are based on stuff like cambrian fossils or really old fish ancestors. one of them is based on a tardigrade, too!"
