The Seamstress is the main antagonist of Sprig's fictional story Skin Deep in the episode "The Shut-In!".
Appearance[]
The Seamstress is a tall amphibian, easily dwarfing most other frogs, toads, and newts, with a lanky build and pink sclera eyes. Her most distinct features are her whitish transparent skin and muscles, which causes her internal organs to be visible.
To conceal her true appearance, she wears a grotesque and disproportionate full bodysuit sewn from the skins of a multitude of frogs. Several faces of her victims comprise a large surface of the disguise, with one head acting as a mask, two as shoulders, two more faces covering her torso, another two on her back, and a final face placed on the right hip. The skins vary in color between brown, light red, and dark green. In addition to the sleeves and leggings, the arm skins of some of her victims are left dangling just underneath their faces. The stitching of the outfit is easily noticeable, thus adding further to the Seamstress' disturbing image.
Background[]
In Sprig's story, Skin Deep, where he and Ivy are playing Bugball, their ball gets lost and lands in a shack that belongs to the Seamtress, who is known to collect other frog skins. When the kids enter the shack to retrieve it, the Seamtress appears and wants their skins. However, when they unmask her, she turns out to be a glass frog. Ivy tricks her into thinking she is being nice, tackles her, and then sets the place on fire. Sprig claims they never saw her again.
The Seamtress appears in the final scene along with Mr. Littlepot and the Screen Fiend.
Sightings[]
Trivia[]
- The Seamtress may be a reference to Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies.
- It's hinted throughout the episode that she really did exist and that Sprig didn't make up the story.
