Beetlejuice Beetlejuice

"The juice is loose."

What in the actual fuck did I just watch
it was so dumb & so bad & so weirdly put together
but in the most fun & entertaining way imaginable

Like I don't even know where to begin with all the problems with this movie
there is so much wrong with the movie
but one of the biggest problems with this movie is that a nice chunk of the cast is just there
like for example Willem Dafoe's character
I have zero fuckin’ idea why he was there
all I know is Willem Dafoe is there just doing his Willem Dafoe thing
& it meant absolutely nothing to the plot
& that's why I absolutely loved Willem Dafoe in this movie
cuz it's literally just Tim Burton filming Willem Dafoe being Willem Dafoe for like no reason
like there are multiple other characters just like Dafoe’s who are just there just for the fucks of it
like another person
Burton's new girlfriend
Monica Bellucci
who in this movie is Beetlejuice's ex-wife
& you think that would play a big role in the movie
no
not reallu
& hell she's barely in the movie
& yet she set up to be like the main villain of the film
& then when she finally confront Beetlejuice at the end it lasts for like 2 seconds
like seriously what was the mindset with some of these characters
is so dumb & so random
but I absolutely loved it

Another thing I want to talk about is that ending
what in the actual fuck was that ending
I don't even know why it was like that
it's like the writers just forgot to write an ending & Tim Burton was like
“Don't worry I'll come up with something.”
& then he forgot to make an ending until he saw a draft of the film
& was like “Oh shit I need to have some kind of ending.”
& then he just goes off & make the most random & most bonkers conclusion he could come up with
like I saw this movie with my sister & I remember me & her were just looking at each other going “What the fuck is going on!?”
really I have no idea why the ending was that bonkers
but I think it was the perfect way to conclude this weird ass film

Now I want to talk about the cast
so let's just begin with the man of the hour
Michael Keaton
who plays Beetlejuice
which just like in 88
Keaton is brilliant as the character
maybe his best character in his whole filmography
Keaton is just so perfect as this perverted insane demon that you just can't help but have an absolute blast with
& I'm still in denial that we've actually gotten more Beetlejuice content
crazy
then we have Winona Ryder who is still really good as Lydia Deetz
she just is always fun to see
& so seeing her in this movie was just nice
& also it was just nice to see what happened to Lydia after Beetlejuice
so that was also nice
then we have someone who I thought was almost as great as Beetlejuice himself
Catherine O'Hara as Delia Deetz
Catherine O'Hare was just an always a treasure to see
& I thought she was absolutely hilarious in this movie
just her over the top reaction to like everything was just great
& I'm very happy that she got to play this character once again
& in a bigger role too
then we have Justin Theroux as Rory who just like the rest of the cast was just so fun & over the top
& I absolutely love what they do with his character at the end
it was just so random that I couldn't help but love it
& then we have the one expect about the movie I just didn't vibe with
& this is a take I know I'm alone in
but I don't like Jenna Ortega as an actress
ever since I saw her in Babysitter Killer Queen
I just never vibed with her
& this movie is no exception
I just don't like her acting
like I mean I've seen her in interviews & she seems like a absolute doll
but I'm sorry I just don't like her in anything
I mean maybe in a Wes &erson movie she'd be good
but everything I've seen her in I just don't like her in it
then we have the biggest surprise of the film for me
Danny DeVito
who is literally just playing Frank Reynolds but dead
like everything Danny does in this movie is something Frank Reynolds would do
& seeing that scene in the film just gave me the biggest grin
since if you go back to my reviews from almost a year ago
you would see that I was a very big Always Sunny fan
so to basically see Frank Reynolds on the big screen was an absolute treasure to see
then we have the MVP of the film
the previously mentioned Willem Dafoe
which I'm not even going to name the character he plays
cuz as I said earlier
he literally just plays Willem Dafoe
& I just love that that's his only role in the film
anyways I thought Willem Dafoe was an absolute scene stealer
& I'm so happy Tim Burton had him in the film just for the fucks of it
& then we have Bob
the most tragic character in all of film
who did not deserve what he got
RIP
& then we have the rest of the cast/characters which I love them all as well
& I love that majority of them are just there for no reason
really the cast/characters in this film was the biggest indominally about the film
& also maybe my favorite part about the film

I'm just going to real quickly talk about my favorite scene of the film
which is obviously the wedding scene at the end
I just thought it encapsulates everything I love about Beetlejuice
like it has all the weirdness that I love about Beetlejuice
all the insanity that I love about Beetlejuice
& all the funness that I love about Beetlejuice
really it is just such a fun & entertaining sequence
that put one the biggest grins on my face that any film this year has put on my face

But yeah I think this was just such a fun entertaining mess
which is probably the most Beetlejuice kind of way you could have made a sequel
it is just so dumb & random that I just couldn't help but have an absolute blast with it
really the best way I could describe this film is like the modern day Vampire's Kiss

Overall this film will definitely get Brad Pitt his 3rd Oscar

Here's my Tim Burton list
My 2024 list
My 200 favourite movies list
& my 10/10 movies list

& here’s a random scene from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
