“As Dostoevsky would say, "Later, fucker!"

The original ‘Beetlejuice’ I watched countless times growing up so when they decided to make ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ I was worried and had very low expectations for this. One thing I was dreading was walking out saying why?.. but honestly I actually enjoyed this way more than I thought I would and really had a great time with this.

Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice it was so good to see again after all these years and still hilarious and chaotic which was great to see. Didn’t take a quick check and looked like he was having fun again. Same too with Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara who were both great and liked the mother daughter chemistry in this too. Jenna Ortega probably the best choice to play the part for daughter in this, she was good. Seen a lot of reviews saying Tim Burton just put Monica Bellucci in this just for the sake of putting her in this to say look how hot my girlfriend is?.. well maybe but who really cares cause I thought she was fine to be honest and didn’t ruin anything, she was solid. William Defoe was funny and pretty corny too. The performances overall I thought were fine to be honest and the story was pretty straight forward but different which was good.

The production, costume, practical effects, make-up artist and stop motion animation were all excellent. Done a great job capturing some of the nostalgia from the original but also creating some cool new ideas to expand the world of the Afterlife. Happy to report that Tim Burton made a solid sequel. By all means I still hold the first one way higher but again walking out liking this and not hating it. I can’t complain.
