Good evening and welcome fellow Children of Chaos.
I'm going to review Survivor Series. And lets get the elephant in the room out of the way. It was amazing to see R-Truth's return (and jokes aside I am way more excited about that than the real "big" reveal).
You know WWE I hope CM Punk is worth the trouble. And I hope his time being suspended in AEW helped him grow as a person. Not counting on it, but here we go. I am not excited for anything with CP Munk, the Straightedge Chipmunk though.
But enough about that, let's get into the least important part of wrestling, the wrestling.
2 War Games matches? WWE it;'s not even my birthday. Outside of the Royale Rumble, War Games is my favorite match type probably, I'd come out of retirement if I was guarenteed a War Games match.
1) Women's War Games match. Ungh, Faces go first. No, Bad WWE, Bad. It makes the faces look like bullies and you lose that last moment rush when the last face finally enters and evens up the score.
Still they did the best they could with the stupid booking by having Kai on the outside feeding the heels weapons. Don't leave things up to a fan vote, look sorry fans, you all don't know how to book a match. Sorry. A testement to the women that this match was the highlight of the night. amazing, as well paced as modern wrestling gets, a number of fun spots. And while at first I was offended the roof was off, the War Games matches did give us a bunch of amazing spots from it. My Favorite was when Shurai used a chain like a fishing lure and got the trash can.
2) Gunther vs. Miz. Every time I see Gunther I am impressed. I love the gimmick. And he is able to actually put together a cohesive match. He is almost the only modern wrestler who does not wrestle like a spot monkey. The match was really solid and I think really told the story of how a lot of fans feel about Miz. That he is a clown who hasn't earned his lot in all these years. And to anyone who thinks Miz hasn't earned his stripes, like him or not, is just delusional. A solid match though the finish was a bit off.
3) Escobar vs. Dragon Lee. In older style of booking this would have been the opener. But now we open with a huge match and I like that better. Worst match on the card, and it was fine. A simple and solid wrestling match.
4) Stark vs. Ripley. A solid women's title match. Ripley is a goddess and no one can tell me otherwise. I really don't have many notes other than I had a lot of fun.
5) Men's War Games. Another great match, well booked, loved the way the holding caged were used. My one issue is that once Orton was introduced it was all faces and there was no heel turn around. Also, they need to let priest cash in MitB. Stop spoiling it before he cashes in, let him cash in THEN spoil it so that way he loses his chances. Jesus faces. I guess it's true what they say, evil will always in because good is dumb.
6) CM Punk is a prick and fuck him.
