Norvel Twonk, O.M. (First Class) (1888-1957) was a wizard, who died saving a Muggle child from a Manticore in 1957. His portrait was hung at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.[1]

Twonk was posthumously awarded the Order of Merlin, First Class.[1] There was a portrait of Twonk hung at Hogwarts Castle, guarding a secret shortcut between the fifth-floor landing of the Grand Staircase and the Entrance Hall side room. The password required to gain access to said shortcut was "Manticore".[2]
