The Astronomy reading room was a small reading room located within the Astronomy Tower.[1]
Description[]
In the 1996-1997 school year
Throughout the 1890–1891 school year, the reading room was often filled with students, many of whom spent their time studying or playing Wizard's Chess. A number of cats would roam around the room as well.[2]
Bookshelves filled most of the room, with small decorative stone cherubs carrying celestial bodies and peering through telescopes perched on the columns. The room contained high ceilings with golden celestial models orbiting in mid-air. High windows provided light. This room could be accessed through the Astronomy Corridor, and an archway that went onto the Astronomy Stairwell, leading to the Astronomy classroom. It's possible that Professor Sinistra prepared her classes here or consulted books here.[1]
