The Boathouse Steps[2] was a staircase that led down the side of the cliff on which Hogwarts Castle sat, ending at the entrance to the Boathouse. The staircase led from the cloister that houses the Chamber of Reception and the Viaduct Courtyard.[1]

- In the films, although it appears in all films, except Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the only time it is seen being used is in Deathly Hallows: Part 2 during the Battle of Hogwarts.
