- "A delicious smell of food was wafting from the Great Hall, but Snape led them away from the warmth and light, down a narrow stone staircase that led into the dungeons."
- — Narrative[src]
Slughorn's Stairs[1] was a narrow stone staircase that connected the Entrance Hall[2] of Hogwarts Castle to the Dungeon Corridor. The staircase was named after Horace Slughorn.
Behind the scenes[]
- In the first two films, this staircase was in the Corridor off the Entrance Hall.[3]
- In the video game adaptation of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the staircase has a handrail, most likely for the player to avoid falling down. However, the handrail is not in the next video game adaptation nor in any of the films.
