This courtyard was an area of Hogwarts Castle where students often spent their breaktimes between classes when not in the Great Hall or their common rooms.[1][2][3][4][5][6] A side door down the corridor off the Entrance Hall led into this courtyard, and a corridor with a staircase leading to the Serpentine Corridor also led to it.
Behind the scenes[]
- In the first two films, this courtyard appears to be represented by the Middle Courtyard.
- In the third movie, it now appears to be the Clock Tower Courtyard.
- In the fourth film onwards, students appear to congregate mainly in the Viaduct Courtyard, although in the sixth film the Middle Courtyard is again prominent given its proximity to the Astronomy Tower.
- In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, the area is represented by the Clock Tower Courtyard.
