- "The first casualties of the battle were already strewn across the passage ahead: The two stone gargoyles that usually guarded the entrance to the staffroom had been smashed apart by a jinx that had sailed through another broken window."
- — Narrative[src]
The staffroom passage was located on the ground-floor of Hogwarts Castle, near the Entrance Hall,[1] and possibly with another access from the upper floors.[2] Two gargoyles stood in the passage, on either side of the staffroom.[3]
Pomona Sprout marched along the passage with Neville Longbottom and half a dozen students with mandrakes during the Battle of Hogwarts, during which a jinx smashed a window in the passage and smashed apart the two gargoyles. Harry Potter passed through the passage with Rubeus Hagrid and Fang.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
- In the video game adaptations in which it features (namely the GBC versions of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and the GBA version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), the staffroom opens directly into the Entrance Hall.
