The Icy Corridor was a corridor on the fifth floor of Hogwarts Castle, named for the cursed ice which had spread on it during the 1985–1986 school year.[1] The Vanished Stairs were hidden behind this Corridor, leading to the Cursed Corridor[2] and the Vault of Ice.[3]
History[]
Ben Copper found the corridor in September 1985 and became trapped in the ice.[1] He was later found by teachers, Jacob's sibling and their friend,[1] but he couldn't remember how he got there.[3]
Hidden behind a wall were the Vanished Stairs that led to the Cursed Corridor, and eventually, the Vault of Ice.[3] At the end of the 1985–1986 school year, Jacob's sibling, Bill Weasley and a friend went through this corridor and the Cursed Corridor, and broke into the Vault.[4]
During the 1988–1989 school year, Jacob's sibling and Bill went back through this corridor to the Vault and duelled the Ice Knight for a second time to complete Sir Cadogan's trial.[5]
Jacob's sibling and Jae Kim later went to this corridor to search for Scabbers, before proceeding to the Cursed Corridor.[2]
