Big Bank Job! is a mission in Grand Theft Auto 2 available during Area 1: Downtown, given to the protagonist Claude Speed by the Zaibatsu Corporation boss Trey Welsh. The mission is available from the yellow phones in the neighborhood of Zarelli in Downtown District, after the completion of either Lick Those Loonies! or Yutes Must Die!
Moderate Respect for the Zaibatsu is required in order to unlock this mission, indicated by the yellow light icon below the gang's respect-o-meter on the HUD.
Description[]
Trey needs to pay-off the cop, so he has Claude to steal money from the Third World Bank. First, he has Claude to steal a G4 Bank Van around the city, picking up a group of Z-Men from Zarelli and driving them to the bank in Flotsam. After getting access through the bank entrance gates, Claude steals a briefcase of money and manages to escape the alerted security guards and the police.
After delivering the money to the Zaibatsu garage in Omnitron, Trey tells Claude to deliver the briefcase of money to Zaibatsu associate Rollo Tomassi so he can swap enough money for the cop payout. Later, he meets the cop at the Flotsam Cop Station and delivers his cut. However, it is revealed that the briefcase given by Tomassi had a bomb, which kills the cop as soon as he enters his Cop Car. After escaping the SWAT team sent to arrest Claude, he returns to the Zaibatsu safehouse in Omnitron and receives his cut from the job from Trey Welsh.
Reward[]
The reward for completing the mission is $40,000, +1 Score Multiplier, and increased Zaibatsu Respect level.
