Red Valdez is a main character appearing in Grand Theft Auto 2.
History[]
Background[]
He is the boss of the Zaibatsu Corporation, replacing the former Zaibatsu boss Trey Welsh after his death. He lives at The Village in the Residential District of Anywhere City. According to his police file, he owns a Stretch Limousine, enjoys picking up prostitutes, and never sleeps. He is also known as "Android", "Ladykiller" and "The Shrink".

Green Phone Jobs[]
Valdez first employs Claude Speed (whom he refers to as "Gecko") to steal a new prototype Flamethrower from the SRS Scientists and then use it to kill many Rednecks at the Mobile RV Park. Valdez also employs Claude to steal "Jungle" Montana Shane's Pickup and use it to blow up the SRS Clone Test Center.
Yellow Phone Jobs[]
After earning more respect from the Zaibatsu Corporation, Claude is hired once again by Valdez to steal four vehicles full of contraband, destroy two cold fusion generators inside the Scientist Research Center and steal some law enforcement vehicles.
Red Phone Jobs[]
Eventually, Valdez sends Claude to kill various SRS Scientists at The Mall, and later to infiltrate the Central Cop HQ and steal their Transporter trailer in order to provide a distraction while Valdez is performing a unknown robbery.
Death[]
Unbeknownst to Valdez, Claude has been working behind his back the whole time, as he was hired by Redneck boss Billy Bob Bean and the SRS Scientist boss Dr. LaBrat. While working for the Rednecks, Claude destroyed a Zaibatsu barricade to create a shortcut to The Village, caused a gang war between the SRS Scientists and the Zaibatsu Z-Men, and killed their top mercenary Flambo Cortez. While working for the SRS, Claude kidnapped and drowned a few Zaibatsu who got secret information on the SRS, killed some of the Z-Men during a peace meeting between the three gangs, attacked The Village, and destroyed the H2000 Hydroelectric Power Station turbines and generator.
In addition, Claude was also killing Red Valdez's Z-Men to gain respect from the SRS and get more jobs from Dr. LaBrat.
Eventually, Valdez realizes he and his Zaibatsu gang were being manipulated by Claude the whole time, and goes after him. Meanwhile, Billy Bob and Dr. LaBrat also find out they are being played by Claude and also go hunting for him. Shortly after, all three bosses track down Claude around the Residential District.
Valdez arrives in a Z-Type with some of his Z-Men and armed with a Rocket Launcher, but is ultimately killed by either Claude Speed in self-defense or by his rival gang bosses.
Shortly after his death, Uno Carb replaced him as the new Zaibatsu Corporation boss.
