The Flaming Ball is a machine block that ignites flammable objects on contact.

Behaviour[]
It is a ball of flame. Naturally, it sets flammable blocks, structures, and entities on fire.
In comparison to Flamethrowers, they burn effectively forever. They cannot be attached to other blocks, but can be held by Grabbers and Holders.
They can be extinguished by Water Cannons (and Steam Cannons!), and reignited by other burning blocks (e.g. flamethrowers).
Usage[]
Their main purpose is as ammunition for catapults. They have enough weight and size to break things, and will continue to roll about setting things on fire after landing instead of breaking or exploding.
They can be used as a more block-efficient method of heating multiple steam cannons than Torches.
With the right framework, they can be used as a smooth omni-directional wheel thanks to their spherical shape. However, it is beaten out in the 'alternative wheels' market by blocks such as Explosive Rockets or Water Cannons, which can attach to other blocks and which aren't immediately dangerous.
