The Barren Expanse shares its theme and size with the Ancient Grounds, but has no indications of civilisation or - indeed - anything other than mountains and rock arches.
It contains much more free space, and is less performance-heavy - ideal for testing performance.

One of the only notable features of the map is quite prominent here; a series of 5 rock arches arranged in a rough curve from the starting point.
