students.
ANALYZE
What is the best method of teaching? Is there such a thing?
Answer:
The ideal method of teaching does not exist. But for me the best way of
creating a curriculum the teacher can employ and even experiment with depends
on the type of students, the subject matter, and the students' level of motivation.

REFLECT
Reflect on this question.

How do we select the appropriate strategy for our

lessons?
Answer:
To choose the best teaching strategy for a lesson, it is important to
consider the content of the lesson, the learning objectives, the age and abilities
of the students, and the resources available. First, identify the specific goals you
want your students to achieve by the end of the lesson. Next, think about the
characteristics of your students, such as their age and skill level. It is also
important to consider the resources you have at your disposal, such as materials
or technology. Additionally, consider the content of the lesson and what method
of presentation will be most effective. Finally, select a teaching strategy that
aligns with all of these factors and supports the goals of the lesson.

Activity 10.2 Determining Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning

Resource Teacher: Eralyn D. Darca Teacher’s Signature: ___________________
School: Rapu-Rapu Central School
Grade/Year: Two
Subject Area: Filipino Date: November 30, 2022
OBSERVE
Observe a class and answer the following questions.
1. Did the Teacher state the learning objectives/intended learning outcomes (ILOs)
at the beginning of the class. Did he/she share them with the class? How?
- After introducing herself, the teacher explains the learning objectives
briefly and then begins the lesson with a prayer. The lesson then
continues with extended discussions.
2. What teaching-learning activities (TLAs) did he/she use? Did these TLAs help
him/her attain his/her lesson objectives/ILOs? Explain your answer.
- The teacher uses various teaching activities, including lectures,
discussions, team learning activities, video presentations, and group
activities, to help achieve the learning objectives of the lesson.

3. What assessment task/s did teacher employ? Is/Are these aligned to the lesson
objectives/ILOs?
- The teacher used group activities and written assignments as
assessment tools to evaluate the students' progress towards meeting
the learning objectives of the lesson. These assessments were
designed to align with the specific goals of the lesson.

ANALYZE
1. What are your thoughts about Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL)?
Answer:
Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL) is a student-centered
approach used in new curriculums. It focuses on the outcomes that students are
expected to achieve, rather than just the content that the teacher intends to
teach.

REFLECT
Reflect on the use of OBTL
Answer:
Outcome-Based Teaching and Learning (OBTL) is a student-centered
approach that focuses on specific goals for students and aligns teaching and
assessment to help students achieve those goals. It is an effective method for
assessing students and evaluating education programs. OBTL can increase
student motivation and engagement, and emphasize critical thinking skills.
However, it is important to carefully consider goals and resources when
implementing OBTL

Activity 10.3 Applying Effective Questioning Techniques

Using the guide questions, I shall reflect on my observations and analysis.

3. Affective

ANALYZE
1. Neil Postman once said: “Children go to school as question marks and leave
school as periods!” Does this have something to do with the type of questions
that teachers ask and the questioning and reacting techniques that they employ?
Answer:
Yes, it is possible that the type of questions that teachers ask and the way
they respond to student questions could contribute to the phenomenon described
by Neil Postman. If teachers primarily ask closed-ended questions that have a
single correct answer, or if they do not encourage students to ask their own
questions or explore ideas in depth, it may discourage students from being
curious and asking questions. On the other hand, if teachers ask open-ended
questions that allow for multiple possible responses and encourage students to
ask their own questions and explore ideas, it may foster a love of learning and
curiosity in students.

REFLECT
Reflect on
The importance of using various reacting techniques

Answer:
Using various reacting techniques can engage students, encourage critical
thinking, create a dynamic classroom, and accommodate diverse learning styles.
This can lead to a more effective and enjoyable learning experience.
