Episode 8

Activity 8 – Establishing My Own Classroom Routines and Procedures in a Face-


to-Face/Remote Learning
To have a meaningful and successful accomplish in this FS episode, be sure to
read through the whole episode before participating and assisting in your FS 2
Resource Teacher's class. Note all the information you will need and tasks you will need
to do before working on this episode.
PARTICIPATE AND ASSIST
To ensure that I can carry out perform my task efficiently and effectively in
participating and assisting my cooperating teacher in establishing routines and
procedures in the classroom or in remote learning, I must be guided by the following
questions:
1. How will I gain student attention in the classroom /remote learning?
2. What are the routines and procedures that I need to establish before, during and
after my classes whether on a face-to-face or remote learning?
3. What verbal and non-verbal communication will I use to signal that students need
help/attention in the classroom / remote learning?
4. How must students get/secure the needed work materials and books and others
in the classroom / remote learning?
5. How will students transition to group work and other cooperative activities in the
classroom / remote learning?
6. What procedures must be followed by students who need to attend to personal
necessities in the classroom/online classes?
7. What rules must be set for students who finish task early/ and for those who
cannot complete work on time?
8. What procedures must be observed for tardiness / early dismissals?
9. What procedures must be done when submitting homework/ performance tasks
in the classroom / remote learning?
10. What procedures must be employed in movements into and out of the
classroom/remote learning?
Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the
possible assistance or participation that you can do to help her/him in doing the
classroom routines. Complete the matrix for the routines that you can employ before,
during and after classes in the classroom/remote learning to ensure order and discipline
in your classes. List down the problems which you have encountered while
implementing these routines.
- We are not given a chance to observe and consult a teacher due to the schools
within our area uses modular distance learning rather than Virtual Classes.
- I ask teacher whether what are the possible problems that can be encountered
during virtual classes and here are her answer:
a. Connection Loss or Unstable Internet Connection.
b. The Ability to provide virtual learning gadgets.
c. Asynchronization due to internet interruptions.
d. Parents are the one who’s answering the modules.

NOTICE
After doing your classroom routines and formulating your procedures, state what
you noticed by answering the following questions:
 How did you feel after employing your classroom routines and establishing your
procedures in the classroom / remote learning?
- If I would have successfully employed the classroom routine and procedures I
have prepared, I would surely feel happy.
 How did your students respond to your classroom routine and procedures?
- The classroom routine I have planned is quite easy to follow, therefor I see
expect no negative feedback to it.
 What Is the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and
procedures?
- When I discussed my plan to the teacher I interviewed she says that it is done
properly but has room for improvement when the time comes that I will conduct
my practice teaching.
 Was there a change in the classroom environment / teaching – learning process
after you have implemented your classroom routine and procedures.
- The students could have been more focus on the class, the students would give
their maximum participation in my class with less distractions.

ANALYZE
1. What factors / conditions prompted you to establish those classroom routines and
procedures?
- The learner’s participation during an online class prompted me to create the
classroom routine and procedures. I want to eliminate the distractions and
different factors that may affect the focus of the students before every start of
distance learning.

2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after employing your


classroom?
- The changes would be noticeable in a long run, when the students follow it
complete. Having now distractions creates an efficient teaching-learning process.
3. Did the teaching-learning process improve? Justify your answer.
- Yes. Due to minimal distractions the students can focus more on receiving the
data being given by the teacher. They can also participate well during the
classes. This is one of the factor that creates an efficient teaching-learning
process.

REFLECT
What insight have you gained doing this learning episode?
- The feedback given by the teacher that I have interviewed and presented my
established Class routine and procedures have greatly affect my point of view in
formulating such things. It is better to set the class before starting the teaching
process in order for it to be done efficiently.

OBSERVE
The problems / challenges I encountered in establishing my classroom routine was that
I am formulating a complicated routine that doesn’t fit the characteristics of my students.
REFLECT
I hope to achieve to address these problems and challenges by considering the different
aspects that would surely fit my students, specially conducting research analyzing their
different abilities, characteristics, and behavior.
PLAN
Some strategies / ways which I can employ to improve my classroom routine are
consider all the data of my students, in order for me to formulate a better class routine
for an efficient teaching-learning process.
