So much worse than the original Turtles flick but not quite a bad movie.
One positive take-away I had from this is that the Turtles themselves were a ton of fun and had really like-able personalities without being too annoying.
However, my main gripe of the movie is that they eat Pizza Hut pizza.
First, that stuff is garbage.
Second, there are so many awesome pizza joints in NYC so it makes no sense they would eat something so awful.
I especially loved the Pizza Hut commercial they subtly slid into the movie.
After years and years and years of hearing how great this movie is, I finally got around to watching The Cabin In The Woods.
And I kinda loved it.
Like everything Whedon and Goddard touch, this movie is sharp, hysterical and totally unforgettable. I wish Goddard directed more because I think he's one of the best pure talents out there.
X-Men: Apocalypse is the movie equivalent of a truck with its back tire stuck in the mud.
There was just barely enough things I enjoyed about it to justify liking the movie. I hope this is a misstep and not a sign of what's to come for this awesome franchise.
So, I kinda-sorta-really don't like origin stories :/
For whatever reason they just don't do it for me (besidesX-Men: First Class) and this movie is no different. I'm head over heels in love with Michael Corleone's section of the film and while I certainly respect the section where we see young Vito's life, I couldn't care less about it.
I like mystery in a character. Especially in a character as cool and well played as Vito Corleone. Not saying that…
MY ONLY PIXAR BLIND-SPOT HAS FINALLY BEEN VIEWED. PRAISE CHRIST.
Ratatouille is probably the strangest Pixar film that I have ever seen. Not to say it isn't extremely well-made but really? A rat chef in Paris? That's what the kids are into? Shows how little I and everyone else knows about the human condition compared to PIxar.
Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE Sci-Fi and I loved Source Code, but truth be told I was a little let down by Moon.
There wasn't that much that I didn't like about it. It just didn't connect with as much as I wanted to.
I guess my main flaw is how Rockwell's character was written. Much like The Thing's characters, he accepts this oddity way to quickly for my taste. The movie lost out on a lot of possible tension because of that.
Yo Days of Future Past is the most lit movie based on a Marvel property. Idk if Apocalypse will count into the equation or not but this X-Men trilogy might be the best superhero trilogy of all time maybe???
If you've seen Kiss Kiss Bang Bang one might get the sense of deja vu.
This might seem like a strange thing to say but the biggest fault of this movie is that there's so much of a plot. Countless comedies over-stuff themselves with the twistiness of their narrative which in turn lessens the comedy, which is what I was looking for more of.
I respect what Black was going for, it just didn't pan out on my end. I liked it, but The Nice Guys is still a bit of a disappointment.
