Lil' Paul deserved better.
I was completely ready to just push everything aside and enjoy Alien in the ocean. But this is all just so bland and boring, there proved to be no fun to be had. Bummer.
My big takeaway is that it took Hollywood so long to do Cthulu. Justice for my large devil son.

I kinda loved this???
A smooth score, nice aesthetic, and it’s mid-century private eye throwback story made this an incredibly enjoyable watch for me. Can’t say it’s a great movie or even a very good one, but I just loved the time I spent in the theater. Gotta give it credit for that.

Worth seeing for the Pale Lady sequence alone.
The rest is still rock-solid horror. Wouldn't mind seeing 6 more of these.

Had to check this out again before it leaves theaters.
Let's just put a 3 year hold on action movies out of respect for this unquestionable masterpiece. We all need time to recover.

If for some reason you've been paying close attention to my letterboxd account. First, why. Second, you may notice I've been on a kick of these low budget, b-movie cast thrillers.
Of all of those entries like Cube, Exam, and Circle this is my least favorite, but I still enjoyed it.
The gruesomeness of the violence got under my skin a little bit but unlike other movies (cough cough John Wick cough cough Logan) I thought it was incredibly vital…

I haven't seen a movie that is so aggressively ok in a long time.
If all you want is to see Kong walk around and fight shit occasionally, you'll have a blast with this movie.
If you want all of that and fleshed out characters, humor and a feeling of satisfaction, maybe watch Aliens instead.
