Not so much a CLOVERFIELD sequel/anthology as it is a thriller with CLOVERFIELD references tacked on to make it seem more significant than it is.
I would have much rather had this movie be approached as a self-contained, almost B-movie type suspense or horror film than slapping it with the CLOVERFIELD. The content of the movie doesn't really justify the title.

Billy Crystal’s direction is admirable, and you can feel his passion bursting through the screen, but the way the story is told mostly in prose rather than poetry, which is needed when you tell a baseball story. The script’s also a little rough and moves too fast.
