The episode begins Mickey's house, with Mickey and Minnie inside. Mickey receives a call from Mayor McBeagle, asking him to renovate a farm the city bought by tonight, a task which Mickey and Minnie agree to. Mickey and friends arrive at the barn, which is more run-down than anyone could have ever imagined, with the windmill collapsing near the chickens and pigs, the barn walls rotting, etc. Donald says it should be demolished, but Mickey is positive they can fix it up in time. He assigns everyone to their works stations: he and Chip and Dale will fix up the tractor, Goofy will check in on the chickens, Minnie and Daisy will fix up the barn and pig pen, and Donald will plant the seeds.
Mickey uses a leaf-blower to clear the tumbleweeds from the barn, but it blows with so much force that he accidentally blows them and Chip and Dale straight into Donald, with some crows laughing at Donald's expense. Minnie and Daisy lead the pigs into the newly-remade pig pen while Mickey and the chipmunks fix the tractor. Daisy thinks they need a new barn; Minnie initially disagrees and claims that they just need to tidy it up, but immediately changes her mind when Daisy slightly taps on one of the walls, resulting in the whole barn collapsing. The gang constructs a brand new barn. Goofy sees the chickens are depressed in their chicken coop, so he and Mickey create a bigger coop that is fun for all the chickens, greatly increasing egg production.
Mickey uses the tractor and Daisy uses a goat named Chomper to plow the field, allowing Goofy, Chip, and Dale to make holes for Donald to plant the seeds in. However, the crows from earlier eat the seeds. Donald scares them away, but now needs to start over. After Mickey talks to Mayor McBeagle on the phone again, Donald uses the tractor to plant the seeds faster. Unfortunately, the crows bother him while using the tractor, causing it to crash into everything, and forcing Mickey to save it before it wrecks the barn. The gang works together, alongside the crows, to fix up the farm once again. The episode ends with all the Hot Dog Hills residents arriving at the new farm, with Mickey and the crows singing "Old McMickey Fixed a Farm."
