Dale befriends Gordy the Groundhog, leaving Chip feeling all left out.
Synopsis[]
The episode begins with Chip and Dale playing on their super slide they constructed just outside of their home. Mickey and friends are walking past when Billy floats over them in his blimp, announcing a boat parade taking place later that day, with the mayor giving a prize to the team whose boat he thinks is best-looking. Mickey and friends disperse to begin their boats while Chip and Dale continue playing on their super slide. As Dale slides, part of it breaks and he lands into a groundhog hole, where he befriends a groundhog named Gordy. Chip finds Dale hanging out with Gordy when he tries to remind him to help fix the super slide, but Dale and Gordy instead run to the hardware store to begin building their boat.
When Chip arrives and sees Dale and Gordy fooling around with some of the equipment, he confides in Minnie and Daisy about how he feels left out. Minnie tells Chip that Gordy is also his friend, but he continues to feel left out as Dale and Gordy continually ignore him. Chip then gets an idea to build his own boat using parts of his and Dale's super slide. He at first hesitates, but decides to do it after he sees Dale and Gordy still having fun.
The Hot Dog Hills boat parade is officially underway, and the teams are showing off the boats they constructed, including Dale and Gordy. Chip arrives in a boat he made by himself, splashing Gordy and the engine of his and Dale's boat. Their boat begins malfunctioning and going haywire, making Chip go after them to rescue them. He tosses Dale a rope, but the chipmunks get into an argument, causing both boats to crash into rocks. Chip apologizes for being jealous of Gordy and Dale apologizes for making Chip feel left out. The three make up and start over with a new boat, and the episode ends with Mayor McBeagle declaring the rodents' boat to be the best looking.
