Things go a little haywire when Daisy wants to celebrate Hanami with a perfect picnic.
Synopsis[]
The episode takes place in Japan, where the gang are exploring a park for celebrating Hanami, a Japanese tradition where people sit underneath the cherry blossom trees to celebrate the arrival of the new season. Donald is reading about the tanuki, also known as the Japanese raccoon dog, a type of mischievous creature said to bring good luck. Mickey is interested in the music and Minnie is stoked to sing the cherry blossom song, "Sakura Sakura". Goofy engineered his hot dog cart to provide Japanese dishes, such as a sakura mochi. Daisy, meanwhile, is worried that she cannot find a perfect spot for her picnic. Donald tries to bait a tanuki by placing a sakura mochi on the ground, but the tanuki ends up stealing Goofy's food cart, forcing the gang to chase after it.
The gang first arrive to a different section of the park, where Mickey begins playing some of the instruments he has heard of earlier. They then find the tanuki running across a river and into a nearby teahouse. Before everyone enters, Mickey tells Donald to be quiet and respectful in the teahouse. It takes almost all of Donald's willpower to remain calm and quiet when he spots the tanuki having tea alongside them, so he is glad that he is finally able to leave when the tanuki leaves.
The gang arrives to another section of the park and try to catch the tanuki. Donald baits the tanuki by wearing a tanuki costume, but he and the actual tanuki crash the cart into a nearby tree, causing sakura mochis and cherry blossoms to fly everywhere. Daisy is upset because she thinks her perfect picnic is ruined and Donald is angry at the tanuki for not giving them good luck. However, the tanuki reveals to Daisy that this is the perfect picnic spot and being able to celebrate with friends and family is what makes anything perfect. The gang finally settles down and the episode ends with the tanuki giving Donald a sakura mochi and the duck giving the tanuki his hat.
