Trivia
- The scene where Weed fights Grime was later used for Sprig's fight against Grime in "True Colors".
- Anne originally retained both shoes (although one had a damaged roof), carried a photo that only had Sasha and Marcy on it, and wrote in a diary during her time in Amphibiland.
- According to Matt Braly, the fantasy elements shown here and in the pilot were toned down for the series in response to the success of the Nickelodeon series The Loud House.[1][2][3]
- The song "Rather Be" performed by Clean Bandit is heard in the sizzle reel.
- This is one of the only pieces of Amphibia media to use a licensed song, the others being the episode "Reunion" which used the Bill Withers song "Lean on Me", and the episode "All In" which used the Blackpink song "As If It's Your Last."
- Weed, the prototype of Sprig, was voiced by Thurop Van Orman in the pilot and the sizzle reel, he is known for being the creator of the Cartoon Network series The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack (as well as voicing the titlular character) and providing the voice of the Gravity Falls character Gideon Gleeful.
- Some of the shots from the sizzle reel were reanimated for the Amphibia Main Title Theme.

In development, I got explicit notes that the studio was no longer interested in adventure or magic so we tried to tilt away from that stuff a bit. Or at least...saved it for later :)”
