Two days ago, the Israeli government openly declared a meeting to confirm the go ahead for a wide operation in Southern Lebanon. I do not know if anything was declared since then. Talking to my connections in South Lebanon, I am told that it is business as usual with the daily skirmishes between Hizbollah and the IDF.

That makes me speculate that there is a strong disagreement between the Israeli cabinet and the IDF leadership about getting involved in a two front war where the new engagement would be much harder than the current one against Hamas.
