Born in Nghe An, he quit school after the 9th grade to start working full time at 15-years-old. He got a job in Saigon, then Phu Quoc Island, the southernmost part of Vietnam. He visited Hanoi and remote Dien Bien Phu, right on the Laotian border.

At 18, he agreed to pay $15,000 to be smuggled into the European Union. The first installment was only $500, however, for which he was flown to Moscow, where he stayed in a house for a month, seeing nothing of Russia, until he and other illegal immigrants were driven to Lithuania, with the intention of entering Poland.

Driving down the road quite openly, they were pulled over by cops, thus he ended up spending a month in a Lithuanian prison, then deported to Vietnam.

Thuy, “Western jails are fantastic. I had my own room, three meals a day, delivered right to my door, and I didn’t even have to do my own dishes. The food was great. I gained ten kilograms [22 pounds]. We had exercise equipment, time to play soccer. I’d gladly have stayed in that jail for an entire year.”

The smugglers refunded his $500, so it was like a vacation of sort, a three-country adventure, counting Belarus, “If they had taken our money without bringing us to Europe, who would use their service again?”

Next, he bought someone’s identity for $20,000. Using this man’s scholastic credentials, he enrolled in a Spanish university then flew to Barcelona with the man’s doctored passport. There, he stayed but a week, seeing nada, before flying to Paris.

In the French capital, he does construction work on an all-Vietnamese crew, for which he’s paid 90 Euros a day, under the table. He lives in a one-bedroom apartment with three other Vietnamese, one woman and two men. Sharing one bedroom, they sleep on two beds, with the three males arrayed on one, “We’re all related, with the same last name and from the same district even, Dien Chau.”

Central Vietnam is known for its poor soil and people, but Dien Chau, with its dusty, potholed streets and spartan stores, is particularly dismal. In Paris, he lives in the 13th Arrondissement, among many Vietnamese, Chinese, Cambodians, Laotians and Thais. I remember some hideous high-rises there, but also one of my best Vietnamese meals ever. Ah, the caramelized pork and eggs!

Each Sunday, a hundred Vietnamese, easy, hang out in a 13th arrondissement park, where they drink beer, sing karaoke and buy food from ambulant peddlers, all illegal, of course, though reasonably discreet. There are similar food purveyors in ethnic neighborhoods across the USA.

“Everyone has a good time. Even some Frenchmen join us. Many of the Vietnamese also speak French. Sometimes, we get carried away and sing too late into the evening, so somebody will have to call the police. That rarely happens, though.”

Working his tail off, he paid off his smuggling fee four months ago, and even bought a 790 Euro cellphone. He wears Adidas, sports a quiff haircut. Life’s good, “The best thing about living here is that you don’t have to worry about anyone harassing you. In Vietnam, when you see a cop, you get very nervous, but the French police are here to protect you. All you have to do is work hard. No one will bother you.”

He has never encountered any prejudice, “Everyone is very nice. Two doors from us, there’s a Muslim family who often bring us food. If they make something nice, they’ll share it with us, and we also bring them food. If we go to the beach, we’ll buy some shrimps or lobsters for them.”

This, despite any of the Vietnamese being able to carry on a conversation with their Muslim neighbors, “Next month, I will start my French lessons. It’s in the evening, three times a week, and costs 200 Euros a month.”

When he gets a chance, he roams around by train or bus. His housemates are not so adventurous. “They just stay around Paris. They think I’m wasting my money, running around, but why not see everything? I have even gone to Berlin, where I have a cousin. I stayed there a week.”

With the global economy still levitating preternaturally and visa-free crossing of many borders, particularly in Europe, we’re living through peak travel. The globe will never be so accessible again.

This week, he asked for five days off, so he could visit Toulouse, Marseille and Cannes, “I’ve been to Marseille twice, but I want to see it again. Last night, my train arrived from Toulouse, but my cousin wasn’t there to pick me up, so I decided to sleep at the station. Around four in the morning, I got robbed by two Arab guys. One guy grabbed my throat, roughed me up a bit, so I gave him my phone and wallet. I’d rather lose my stuff than my life. What I lost, I can make back in a week, but if I had resisted, they might have really hurt me. This is the first time I’ve ever been mugged, but it’s no big deal. You can’t just sit home.”

A few hours later, he met me and Jonathan Revusky on the Place d’Huiles by the Marseilles Old Port. The 21-year-old was sitting outside a closed Le Ginseng, where his cousin’s a waitress.

Staring at a menu on the wall behind him, I made small talk, asked how long he had been in France. Just a year and a half, he said. We moved to nearby Le Cigalon, had a cutthroat beer, chatted.

Enjoying our conversation so much, he accompanied Jonathan Revusky and me to Basilique Notre-Dame de la Garde, just half a mile away, though steeply uphill. In that 87 degree weather, I was huffing and had to park my lardy ass a couple of times. My new young friend didn’t break a sweat.

Looking at my slumped form, Jon said, “Is this the same Vietnamese that defeated the French at Dien Bien Phu?”

ORDER IT NOW

Inside the church, he knelt down and prayed, then bought a crucifix and a Virgin Mary statue for 13 Euros from the gift shop. His cousin had apparently lent him some money. It’s good to belong to a network. He has relatives in England and Poland also. He dreams of going to England, “I hear that life there is really great.”

His name is Thủy, which means water. “You’re meant to flow everywhere,” I said.

“Yes, that’s me,” he laughed.

Devout, he goes to mass every week, at a Vietnamese church in the 17th arrondissement, two metro lines away. He’s planning a Vatican trip. “Many people dream of seeing it at least once in their lifetime. I will actually see it.”

The best view of Marseille is from the northern end of Le Pharo, a park. From that vantage point, you’ll have at your feet the 17th century Fort St Jean, the 19th century cathedral, with its domes, twin spires and banded marble design, and the Old Port with all of its fishing boats and yachts.

“What more do you want?” I marveled. “I can sit here for hours and just look at this.”

Thủy, “And it’s even better when you have a good conversation!”

Deeming the Old Port a terrorist nest, the Germans and their French collaborators raided it in January of 1943, arrested roughly 6,000 individuals, then deported 1,642, 782 of whom were Jews. All the remaining residents of the Old Port, around 30,000 people, were cleared out so it could be dynamited, then rebuilt. In May of 1944, English and American planes bombed the Old Port and killed 1,752 people.

Thủy has no fear of being deported, “I know a guy who’s been here ten years, illegally. As long as I don’t rob or kill anyone, the police won’t bother me, and if I get sent back, I get sent back.”

After we had parted ways with Thủy, Jon observed, “That kid is like the protagonist of a picaresque novel. He’s a contemporary Huckleberry Finn! I can certainly understand the restrictionist point of view on immigration, that people like this should be sent back, but when you meet a kid like this, you really have to be inhuman, to turn off a certain human side of one’s being, in order not to feel some empathy with him.”

“He’s a survivor, man. He’s not thinking about the larger implications of what he’s doing. People have always been drawn to better opportunities, and you can even make a case that he’s a political refugee.”

“But much of the world can make the same claim.”

“Exactly! Since most governments are oppressive and awful, but that doesn’t mean that France should be responsible for a guy like Thủy.”

Visitors to Marseille converge on the Old Port. If they want to experience a less touristy neighborhood, they can stroll to Le Panier, where normal people live in five-floor walk ups and kids play in concrete parks late into the night. Few visitors will trek further north into Saint-Lazare, La Villette then Félix Pyat, the poorest neighborhood in all of France.

Along the way, you will notice that nearly everyone on the sidewalk is African, with at least half of the women in Muslim clothing. You will pass many discount clothing stores, hijab boutiques, Arab cafés that don’t serve alcohol, Saree Bollywood, Snack Luxor, Aroun Mohammed Pizzeria, Swag Hair, Africa Beauté and Karibou, a restaurant featuring the unjustly neglected cuisine of the Comoros.

Since wresting independence from France in 1975, the African island nation has been jolted by more than 20 coup d’états, with several heads of state assassinated. “Maybe it’s their national sport,” Jon remarked. Although Karibou’s sign had “welcome” in 11 languages, we didn’t go in to sample its kebabs and triangular savory pastries, regrettably. A woman sat on each side of the darkened door. One step down, on the sidewalk, a kid carried another on his back.

Compared to black American ghettos, the poorer, trash-strewn neighborhoods of Marseille are less dangerous and have better stores, including groceries with fresh fruit and vegetables. At the corner of Félix Pyat and Charpentier, a haggard man sat in front of a mural of green waves, well graffitied over. Bending to the side, he got ready to snort some powder heroin. Under an overpass, an old, head scarfed and black-robed lady sat on a folding chair, with a man’s hat upturned on her lap, begging. Twisting her mouth, she showed several missing teeth.

With resource depletion and a still ballooning global population, a flood of black, brown and yellow Third World immigrants will keep trying to enter rich, mostly white nations, where they will be met with a resurgence of nativism.

Though many native whites will continue to side with non-white newcomers, their number will dwindle as multiculturalism loses its appeal and legitimacy, for tension or even open, violent conflict is likely when you have distinctive groups, with clearly different world views and tendencies, jostling for scraps on the same sinking economic ship.

In Le Panier, I saw an Italian sticker, “La solidarietà è un’arma” [“Solidarity is a weapon”], but it’s no call for global unity, only the battle cry for fans of U.C. Sampdoria, the Genoan soccer team. Similarly, Liverpool supporters always sing, “You’ll Never Walk Alone.” If you’re one of us, that is. Always limited to your own group, solidarity is used as a shield or weapon against all enemies.

Persecuted or expelled from just about every Christian land, Jews would appear to be exhibit A of how multiculturalism doesn’t work, but we’re so much more progressive than that, correct? Chased from Spain, Jews were welcomed in Muslim Morocco and the Ottoman Empire.

Leaving Marseille, Jon and I drove back to Spain, and not long after crossing the border, we spotted two slim and gorgeous blondes in bikinis standing by the side of the sunny, dusty road. Ukrainians, they’re two more victims of the American Israel Empire. Like you, though, they’re not likely to know who have turned them into dispensable meat.

ORDER IT NOW

Speeding away from beauty, we encountered a charming sign in Pont du Mollins. Under a photo of a loafer about to step on dogshit, there’s a question in Catalan, “Your foot or your shit?” Then, “Dog owners should take care to pick up their animals’ excrement. Foul streets harm all, give the town a bad image and are a bad example to the little ones. Coexistence implies responsibility.”

Different populations have diverse ideas about civic responsibilities, however. Muslims don’t own dogs, so the above doesn’t even apply to them, but each French sidewalk is liberally garnished with dog droppings, for your typical Frenchman clearly thinks it’s ridiculous to pick up his pet’s caca. Next to soccer and bicycling, stepping on merde is France’s national sport.

Different peoples differ on just about everything, marriage, gay marriage, transsexuality, child beating, littering, education, loud music and paying taxes, etc. Peaceful coexistence means having rough consensuses, at the very least. Disagreeing, people voluntarily segregate, or worse, much worse.

Have we reached peak immigration, or will the coming global economic, political and social turmoil send billions, Americans included, across various borders?

    Linh Dinh,

As always, a very insightful read. Thank you.

I’m almost finished with the book, “This is London(istan): Life and Death in the World City,” by Ben Judah. As I’m sure you know, Judah does for London in 433 pages what you do in shorter blog entries from your world travels … getting to the ungarnished truth by interviewing the new and newer immigrants and the ethnic natives in the ongoing, mass migrations from the Third World to the First World.

The future of multiculturalism? Judah’s interview with an African immigrant to the UK is telling:

“As what happens in multiculturalism is all OK when everything is going fine — if the economy is good, if there is no housing problem, if there is no major social issue, no political upheaval, no major trouble, it runs OK … But if it goes bad …”

The interviewee draws on his experience in Africa.

“I am African. I know places like Kenya and Uganda where there were economic upheavals … of course the foreigners in the land paid dearly. As soon as things went bad they were killed, they were booted out, they were made to leave.”

    Multicultulism?

“But that is not happening in Edmonton. … People are living exclusive life based on their families, based on their communities, based on who they perceive as like them. … The Asian community … the Turkish community … the white community … the African community. But who is trying to understand the other? Nobody.”

Both you and Ben Judah are finding the same sentiments among the multicultural immigrants. They live multiculturalism first hand. They live the multicultural tensions first hand. They are not hopeful.

This is not going to end well. All it takes is a match to light the fire. As you so aptly described the likely outcome:

“Though many native whites will continue to side with non-white newcomers, their number will dwindle as multiculturalism loses its appeal and legitimacy, for tension or even open, violent conflict is likely when you have distinctive groups, with clearly different world views and tendencies, jostling for scraps on the same sinking economic ship.”

Must not be strictly observant … shellfish isn’t exactly Halal in most quarters.

Globalists want ‘multi-cultural’ Europe because they can play divide-and-conquer among peoples. They hate solidarity and unity among the populace against the ruling minority elites.

    Multi-culturalism should be called Divide-n-Conquerism.

    Barbara Specter is a Divide-N-Conquerist, or DNC-ist.

Where will we Americans go? It costs us big money to get into Australia or Canada or NZ. We are not welcome to work, almost anywhere, maybe nowhere … certainly not in the EU.

Or, maybe, like our compatriot, Linh Dinh, we can just travel on and on.

“So here’s to you our rambling boy,

That’s true of course, but it’s equally true that part of growing up is understanding that such feelings and such empathy are not sufficient to base policy on in the real world. Only the immature and those deluded by ideology or corrupted by greedy self-interest fail to understand that or to apply it to a particular issue.

Immigration in particular is always and everywhere a numbers game, as far as impact on the indigenous people is concerned – small numbers a blessing, larger numbers less so, big numbers invariably bad and very large numbers catastrophic.

Around four in the morning, I got robbed by two Arab guys. One guy grabbed my throat, roughed me up a bit, so I gave him my phone and wallet. I’d rather lose my stuff than my life. Two thugs for one hardworking paragon. That’s undoubtedly a very biased sample of the immigrant communities in general – in favour of the immigrants.

And even then, do the benefits brought by the paragon begin to compensate for the misery spread by the thugs? Depends how lucky you and your family and friends are in evading the attentions of the thugs, and whether you profit from the labours of the paragon, I suppose.

Everything exemplified in the realist view of vetted and reasonable legal immigration is in what the young Vietnamese man said. “As long as you don’t kill or rob anyone, the police dont bother you.” And his other comment, “All you have to do is work hard.” An influx of law abiding, assimilating, hard working immigrants in reasonable numbers create a better country. An influx of tens of millions of unvetted, non-assimilating, unskilled, basically illiterate, illegal immigrants that are supported by taxpayers for generations is nation suicide. The ‘paragon’ is still a problem. He represents the biggest problem with immigration, wage depression, housing consumption, community displacement and balkanisation. That is what drives resentment of immigrants, that some of them are now highly violent and produce terrorism is something that merely adds to the resentment and political priority of certain kinds of immigration.

He still takes more than he adds. The wealth goes to him and his employers not to the broader society which gets ghettos, lowered social trust, new citizens who have no attachment to the history of their new home (Be they Muslim or ‘paragon’) and a public space that is more implicitly hostile to the native peoples and their full realisation of self-determination and sense of security.

Nobody goes to another country and says ‘I’m going to add more than I take’. That’s not the point and it never was.

  26. Immigration is how rich countries continue to plunder from poor countries. During colonial times rich countries steal poor countries’ natural resources. Now we steal their human resources.

At the end of the day, all countries are hurt by immigration. The only people who benefit from it are the immigrants themselves, and their enablers – the immigration lawyers, real estate agents, real estate developers, business owners who get cheap labor and politicians who cater to the business owners or want votes from the immigrants. And all the gains are monetary gains, they lose their soul along with the rest of us.

Meanwhile, poor countries become poorer as they lose their best brains and able bodies, for who is left to run the country but the weak, the old, the sick, the corrupt, and the crooked. No one is left to fight for the country, so they become poorer and ever more corrupt.

In the rich countries, immigrants lower wages for everyone from high tech workers to fast food workers, make us all lazier (esp. our teenagers) thanks to cheap labor. Most importantly, immigrants from vastly different backgrounds permanently change the character of the country, social cohesion is lost, we becomes more and more like the countries from whence these people came – dog eat dog, every man for himself. Everybody hates everybody. Even whites begin to hate and distrust other whites.

Assimilation was easier back before cheap air travels and the internet, and when our schools still taught real civics and insisted on everyone learning English. Now that immigrants outnumber natives in many schools, that’s gone out the window. Bilingual education is on the rise and Civics is now a lesson on identity politics and victimhood narrative.

You simply cannot have mass immigration while promoting identity politics and victimhood narrative, emphasizing our differences rather than our commonalities as people. Each group is now told to hang on to their own “superior” culture and language, and that they are all victims of the white men. That is pure national suicide. Why are they here if their cultures are superior? They’re here because their cultures suck, they are cultures that encourage corruption, crime and misogyny.

It’s time for rich countries to end all immigration. This lopsided way of development cannot continue forever. Europe and the US cannot take in all of the world’s 7 billion people. We need to encourage all third world people to stay in their own countries and improve their own countries. The world is big enough for all of us, just not all on the same 2 continents.

Great travel story. We know that unsustainable trends will not continue. Something will happen and the peak ‘openness’ time will end. I have no idea how or when and it could first get a lot worse; it could be bloody. There could be a softer landing or a complete Leviathan global chaos. Numbers are numbers, this will not go on and on.

But I am sure looking back nobody among elites will own up to it. They will all hide and lie, point to others, claim that they were only following ‘the process’, that it just happened. The law-givers will point out that the laws were not fully enforced, that none of this was actually legal. The law-enforcers will claim that there were no budgets, that they were told to stand down and not enforce the laws. The cheap labor rich will say that they had no idea this was going on. The diversity left will blame Bush and imperialism; they are numerically challenged anyway, so who could expect them to actually understand the numbers? Many will blame Russian ‘meddling’ and Trump. Feminists will blame patriarchy and patriarchs will blame the boomers. The young will blame the stupidest generation in history, the baby boomers, but by then it will be irrelevant

As with all history catastrophes, nobody will step up to claim the ownership.

The biggest difference between a First world country and a Third world country is the respect for the rule of law. Rich countries are rich because people respect the law, and laws are enforced. In contrast poor countries are poor because people don’t respect the law and the laws are often haphazardly enforced. If we want to stay as first world countries, we must enforce the law, including all our immigration laws, or we will become like third world countries in no time.

What law are you talking about? It seems most laws are designed to favor the rich. Also, if one looks t the law of the jungle, it favors the strong, and the strong are not necessarily the most virtuous.

Rich countries (like rich people) may in fact be rich mainly because they have a better understanding of how to organize theft, especially from poor countries.

“The primitive state is the creation of warlike robbery; and only by warlike robbery can it be preserved.”

…or we will become like third world countries in no time.

If you read LD’s articles, you’ll see that “we” are already headed in that direction and have been, for some time, especially if one considers that a third world country is typically one in which there is a huge gap in the income of the few rich and the masses of poor, and that for the poor the future is bleak. to one degree or another.

He uses the city buses and trains and buses for out of town trips. French trains are like Amtrak, supported by taxes. So are the buses he uses. He’s in unlicensed construction. Even the best trained Union trades men and contractors who follow all the safety laws get hurt and occasionally disabled at a young age.
But he pays no taxes into the medical system.

The licensed contractors get and pay for permits, build to code or better and their work is passed by inspectors.

Unlicensed legal and illegal immigrant contractors don’t even pull permits let alone pass inspection because without the permit the inspectors don’t know the work is being done.

He uses city sidewalks, streets, buses, sewers, water, subways, police protection, street lights the parks, museums, Bastille day and other festivities and attractions that are supplied by the cities, towns, departments and national government of France but he pays no income tax neither does his immigrant employer.

He does pay the enormous vat sales tax and property tax through his landlord.

He’s a thief. By not paying income tax while enjoying the numerous government benefits paid for by native French tax payers and their law abiding employers, he’s stealing thousands of Euros in benefits every year.

Oxytocin-enforced norm compliance reduces xenophobic out-group rejection

In the midst of rapid globalization, the peaceful coexistence of cultures requires a deeper understanding of the forces that compel pro-social behavior and thwart xenophobia. Yet, the conditions promoting such out-group-directed altruism have not been determined. Here we report the results of a double-blind, placebo-controlled experiment showing that enhanced activity of the oxytocin system paired with charitable social cues can help counter the effects of xenophobia by fostering altruism toward refugees. These findings suggest that the combination of oxytocin and peer-derived altruistic norms reduces out-group rejection even in the most selfish and xenophobic individuals, and thereby would be expected to increase the ease by which people adapt to rapidly changing social ecosystems

Never before have individuals had to adapt to social environments defined by such magnitudes of ethnic diversity and cultural differentiation. However, neurobiological evidence informing about strategies to reduce xenophobic sentiment and foster altruistic cooperation with outsiders is scarce. In a series of experiments settled in the context of the current refugee crisis, we tested the propensity of 183 Caucasian participants to make donations to people in need, half of whom were refugees (out-group) and half of whom were natives (in-group). Participants scoring low on xenophobic attitudes exhibited an altruistic preference for the out-group, which further increased after nasal delivery of the neuropeptide oxytocin. In contrast, participants with higher levels of xenophobia generally failed to exhibit enhanced altruism toward the out-group. This tendency was only countered by pairing oxytocin with peer-derived altruistic norms, resulting in a 74% increase in refugee-directed donations. Collectively, these findings reveal the underlying socio-biological conditions associated with out-group-directed altruism by showing that charitable social cues co-occurring with enhanced activity of the oxytocin system reduce the effects of xenophobia by facilitating prosocial behavior toward refugees.

Though I must admit that w’re not moving in the right direction the concepts corporate and governmental gangsters dor not exist in W Europe.

Well, to a large extent, the term ” governmental gangsters” is redundant. The old Greeks and Romans (Europeans both, I think 😉 ) knew about it. Aristophanes and Juvenal are two of my favorites, had plenty of fodder for their satires because of it.

If they don’t exist today in Europe, then the place is run by infants and moral meretrices. For an explanation of that, you may want to investigate Varoufakis’ superb “Adults in the Room.” He makes the case that in the EU, EC and ECB, there are no adults available.

All them bennies, courtesy of taxes, overlook the basic fact that taxes are theft.

But this theory of our government is wholly different from the practical fact. The fact is that the government, like a highwayman, says to a man: Your money, or your life. And many, if not most, taxes are paid under the compulsion of that threat.

The concept was realized long ago.

In the “City of God,” St. Augustine ( around the 5th century AD),tells the story of a pirate captured by Alexander the Great. The Emperor angrily demanded of him, “How dare you molest the seas?” To which the pirate replied, “How dare you molest the whole world? Because I do it with a small boat, I am called a pirate and a thief. You, with a great navy, molest the world and are called an emperor.” St. Augustine thought the pirate’s answer was “elegant and excellent.”

Here’s another fun quote that seems to fit in nicely with the topic of the article and points out that taxes used to help the poor may not be what they’re “supposed” to be..

I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different countries, that the more public provisions were made for the poor, the less they provided for themselves, and of course became poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the more they did for themselves, and became richer.

There’re downsides to your fetish, the state.

Not only does the State do the work badly on a domain not its own, bunglingly, at greater cost, and with less fruit than spontaneous organizations, but, again, through the legal monopoly which it deems its prerogative, or through the overwhelming competition which it exercises, it kills or paralyzes these natural organizations or prevents their birth; and hence so many precious organs, which, absorbed, atropic or abortive, are lost to the great social body.—And still worse, if this system lasts, and continues to crush them out, the human community loses the faculty of reproducing them; entirely extirpated, they do not grow again; even their germ has perished. Individuals no longer know how to form associations, how to co-operate under their own impulses, through their own initiative, free of outside and superior constraint, all together and for a long time in view of a definite purpose, according to regular forms under freely-chosen chiefs, frankly accepted and faithfully followed. Mutual confidence, respect for the law, loyalty, voluntary subordination, foresight, moderation, patience, preseverance, practical good sense, every disposition of head and heart, without which no association of any kind is efficacious or even viable, have died out for lack of exercise. Henceforth spontaneous, pacific, and fruitful co-operation, as practised by a free people, is unattainable; men have arrived at social incapacity and, consequently, at political incapacity.

  51. The history of the human race is one long story of attempts by certain persons and classes to obtain control of the power of the State, so as to win earthly gratifications at the expense of others. People constantly assume that there is something metaphysical and sentimental about government… Some want to get [capital] without paying the price of industry and economy. In ancient times they made use of force. They organized bands of robbers. They plundered laborers and merchants. Chief of all, however, they found that means of robbery which consisted in gaining control of the civil organization—the State—and using its poetry and romance as a glamour under cover of which they made robbery lawful. They developed high-spun theories of nationality, patriotism, and loyalty. They took all the rank, glory, power, and prestige of the great civil organization, and they took all the rights. They threw on others the burdens and the duties.

My classmate had a layover in Marseilles of a few hours until her next train. She ventured out of the gare and found that the neighborhood vibe turned quickly. She began to be concerned and decided to turn around. An Algerian ran out of the gare with a suitcase in his hands and proceeded to throw it on the ground repeatedly to break it open to look for valuables.

That prompted her to change course, only to encounter another Algerian walking quickly toward her with a gun in his hand. He smiled and offered to sell her the gun and admonished her to buy a weapon if she was going to be foolish enough to venture into the Algerian quarter where even the police hesitated to enter. She pleaded poverty so no gun purchase, then returned to the gare to get the hell out Marseilles. She lived to tell the story. There are many in France and elsewhere in Europe who do not get that chance in cities where every area seems like a foreigner quarter.

Do try to remember that ‘Asians’ are not one thing.

Until recent times, in historical and to some extent, ethno-racial-linguistic terms, there were three branches of Christianity in Europe, with the nations dominated by protestantism having some degree of racial homogeneity, the Catholic ones largely having two, not sharply delineated, groups, the Orthodox having a few more defined ethnicities, but all sharing scripts derived from Greek, and essentially the same form of Christianity. Also, two smallish left-over populations from the Ottoman empire in the Balkans, but they didn’t count for much until the evil way the federal republic of Yugoslavia was destroyed.

The Asian equivalent is at least seven, without counting the arabs, persians, and turks as ‘Asian’ (which they prefer except in terms of qualification matches in stupid soccer, and at times, of religion), without considering racial, linguistic, and other important factors. I won’t spell them out, the post is already too long.

‘Asia’ is a nonsensical concept except in terms of physical geography, which is why ‘Asian’ has completely different meanings in western Europe, and the USA, and can serve, for example, as the English translation of three different terms for three completely different concepts in Japanese.

Especially if the last few years include the time of the US involvement in WW1 onward, if not before(US involvement in Central and South America or the Philippines, anyone?). Principles of justice were also tossed to the wind and made a mockery of by Wilson and FDR to name just two of the biggest war criminals in world history. Not only were those principles violated, perverted and ignored, but so were Wilson’s 14 Points and the terms of the much ballyhooed ideals of the Atlantic Charter.

An excellent, highly readable book on the subject is linked below (avail in pdf at the site).

“Not one of the positive goals set forth in the Atlantic Charter and the Four Freedoms has been realized. There is no peace today, either formal or real. Over a great part of the world there is neither freedom of religion nor freedom of speech and expression. Freedom from fear and want is now an outstanding characteristic of the present age. The right of national self-determination, so vigorously affirmed in the Atlantic Charter, has been violated on a scale and with a brutality seldom equalled in European history.”

Further: “No war in history has killed so many people and left such a legacy of miserable, uprooted, destitute, dispossessed, human beings.”

I know you are correct about not generally wanting to sleep three-men-to-a-bed and four-in-a-room, but even if the work is intermittent, surely they could pay for better? Buy futons and two to sleeping on the floor?

Though I see that my post may have been stupid for that point, too.

Still, I have met and seen people, from single mothers here, who persist in sleeping with their children long after the children are too old for it, as an every night thing, to people from some cultures with big families who desperately prefer to sleep in the same room as relatives or friends. So I jumped on same family name, and very likely made a wrong assertion, but some people can’t standing to sleep in a room, or at times, even a bed, as alone. I’m sorry if I jumped on you. As for 4 people in a one bedroom apartment it’s just the Asian Way.

They have much more space than the typical middle class Chinese immigrants to California, 20, 25 people in a 1,000 sq ft house.

With 12 or 15 adults contributing $300 a month for rent or mortgage and taxes those Chinese immigrant dishwashers and workers in the illegal factories can pay $40,000 to $54,000 in rent or mortgage and tax payments every year.

Only the highest earning Americans with at the most 2 parents and 5 kids in a single family house or 2 roommates in a one bedroom apartment can afford the kind of rent the Chinese crowded housing people pay.

That and affirmative action for any and all non Whites is why we need another Chinese exclusion act.

But don’t be surprised as Thuy’s housing arrangement. It’s unusual spacious for Asian immigrants.

Back in 1977 when I decided to move back into San Francisco, I looked at a glorious old house in Nob Hill. 8 large rooms plus the kitchen. It was occupied by Chinese immigrants. I counted beds for 41 people in 4 bedrooms, living room, dining room, library and another sitting room.

Most leases say no overnight visitors more than 3 days. If any landlord tried to enforce it they would lose in court and charged with racism. All over San Francisco and other Chinese areas they add on rooms that cover the entire back yard. No permits, no licensed contractors built those add ons. Plus covering the entire backyard with an extension is a violation of numerous building and zoning codes.

But building inspectors are under orders to ignore the extensions even when neighbors make numerous complaints.

Unfortunately our leaders have once again failed us.

Brexit has turned out to be a total mess with little to no implication on immigration, while Donald Trump continues to disappoint on immigration. So far he has deported fewer illegals than even Obama. The funding for the Wall will again not be on the next budget. He has done absolutely nothing on H1b or OPT, while expanding H2B even further. His latest stunt on DACA was plain sickening. He basically did a token gesture so he could claim he has repealed DACA as promised, but the 6 month enforcement extension means Congress will have time to force through a measure that will grant permanent amnesty, while jeopardizing the 10 state lawsuit to end DACA.

Trump’s betrayal of his voting base, the election of immigration loving leaders like Mark Rudd, Justin Trudeau, Emmanuel Macron over Le Pen, the expected easy re-election of Merkel means we have now passed the tipping point. Short of a bloody revolution, Rome aka the entire western world is once more subsumed by huns and visigoths. We will become more and more like the third world hellholes from whence most of our new immigrants came. Oh for God’s sake.

Do you how many Asian nations there are? I do and I learned it long ago. 57 nations are classified Asian. I also know there are numerous ethnicities in those 57 Asian nations m. I also know that England classified Pakistani Caucasians as Asians to hide their high crime rate.

I am also familiar with French labor and industrial laws. I also can accurately assume that Thuy’s employer doesn’t obey French labor laws because he doesn’t pay payroll taxes.

He is an illegal off the books worker working for an immigrant unlicensed off the books underground company. I won’t call his employer a contractor because that means a license.

Thuy’s employer doesn’t follow the 35 hour work week, paid overtime, worker safety written pay checks and other French employment laws. His payroll consists of a box of his ill gotten cash. His employer doesn’t arrange the worker contributions to all the government services he and his workers use every day just getting to work on the bus.

Summary, Thuy and his employer don’t follow French labor laws. € 90 a day? How long is the day, 8 hours, 16 hours?

As far as unlicensed a$&holes pretending to be contractors and unskilled idiots pretending to be construction workers I won’t buy a building put up by them.

I’ve been a property owner since 1968 and landlord since 1973. The major thing to look for is the building code at the time the building was built. If it’s a universal or basic state code that means it was built under the lowest standards code. Basically pioneer days or the sheds not barns farmers knock together.

Universal basic building code buildings are a nightmare. You’ll spend years trying to fix it until it’s sold to the next sucker.

The difference between an unlicensed workers work and a real trades men’s work is obvious. Also, I usually pay less for a journeyman and apprentice at union wages. That’s because they know exactly what they are doing and do it very quickly. And then it doesn’t need to be done again for 75 years.

The entire point of illegal workers and illegal immigrant employers is that they don’t follow French tax, employment and labor laws.

I’m not prejudiced against non Union illegal immigrant construction workers.
I’m post judiced, very post judiced against them. I’m even more post judiced against basic lowest standard building codes. And I don’t trust any contractor ever, ever, ever.

And the more non tax paying workers and business owners like Thuy and his boss they are, the fewer jobs for tax paying workers. Plus tax paying licensed businesses disappear because they can’t compete against underground non tax paying businesses.

And what happens when there are more tax evaders than tax payers?

Serbs were locked in their homes watching their pets roasted on spits in the front yard. Orchards were denuded, and gardens plundered all the way to the Hungarian border. The Greeks were the first to scream about pets disappearing, but only social media spread the word.

There was one small effort in an Austrian paper, but they didn’t attribute the disappearance of all the cats in the neighborhoods to the Muslims… they left the question … Where are all the Cats?

These are the same monsters who then tossed their own babies over the razor wire fence at Hungarian border guards who gasped and didn’t know how to respond.

And this is just the beginning.

Sorry folks, Hitler did us a REAL disservice – he made genocide a dirty word before it became the necessity to save Western Civilization.

He also went after the wrong people, for the wrong reasons…. yeah Jews are disgusting in their ethnocentric excesses….and YES, they advance and support the invasion of White Western countries because we are their economic enemies…. they believe they can handle the invading hordes with gated communities and Jewish schools.

I think that’s a bit short sighted. 1.7 billion Muslims hate them more than we do. And until and unless they help us turn back the tide of these vermin…. it’s Jews who will face genocide again, and this time by people who have a bit more starch than the average German prison guard.

Someone willing to toss their baby over a razor wire fence is someone we want sterilized, or better yet – dead.

As for me, I’m not sure I would be alive if my home, garden and animals were under assault by these vermin…. I would have killed as many as I couyld, with the time I had…. starting with the babies… because if we don’t kill their kids…. WE ARE FINISHED

Actually, the perverse logic of the Germans mirrors the Jewish model for dealing with economic rivals. The Germans I spoke with at Lake Balaton in Hungary fled the Muslim invasion but insisted that its just the way Germans plan to escape the Jewish yoke they’ve endured since WWII.

Americans don’t know the tyranny of Jews in Germany since 1945. German children are forced on field trips to see the evil of their grandparents and ALL ARYANS.

Jews still control industry and banking… and Germans took a page from the Jewish play book to get out from under that boot. Bring in Turks… increase their political muscle… and begin to defeat the Jews who control Germany.

Remember, Merkel was an East German … daughter of a Methodist [I believe] Minister… My money says… and some very very angry German expats in Hungary insist that the Muslim invasion is savvy virtue signaling with the added benefit that the Muslims will rid them of Jews.

I think that’s a bit optimistic…. but Germans think Muslims are more manageable because of low IQ. Germans see how well the Jews have subjugated Americans with leftist minorities who pose little threat to the select billionaires Bezos, Gates, Zuckerberg…. the list is pretty much ALL Ashkenazi Jews …who control the entire AMerican economy.

The Germans hope to do the same to the Jews….. using Muslims. Let’s see how that works out.

It may be yet more evidence of “inbreeding depression”, the deleterious effects of too many first-cousin marriages.

See also the mug shots of the Rotherham rapists: the physical deformities exhibited by these men are striking, not to mention the mental retardation evident from their dull expressions. Sending their men to invade Europe may be a desperate move by Muslims to fix their gene pool, by impregnating Euro women and claiming their offspring as Muslims, before it is too late.

As far as my views, anybody who has been following me knows I am 100% fine with the West not accepting any more Muslim refugees. They have the right to maintain their borders and national policies in line with whatever their populations deem best. Nor do I expect anything from the West other than to stop bombing and tearing apart relatively stable Muslim countries – the Ummah can and should take care of its own. I’m also not begging to stay in the West – I’m not some triggered SJW Muslim snowflake “Please massa’, please! Let this po’ house negro stay! Yes, that’s usually (especially where the “don’t invite” is unduly focussed on islam rather than mass entry of foreigners in general) a pretty good indicator of either a zionist or a brainwashed apologist for the same – the latter are particularly common in the US where Israel lobby propaganda combined with pseudo-Christian Judaism/Israel worship has had a particularly strong grip for the past few decades.

Though there are quite a few similar types in Europe, usually due to Holocaust guilt-tripping or homosexualist fear of any culture that still has healthy views of their behaviour.

The problem is that such dangerous allies are necessary if there is to be any defeat of the establishment unholy alliance on mass immigration.

  90. yyrvjh says:

we’re not the ones peeing in our pants about non-Muslims in our midst

Why would you “pee your pants” about some 10,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan? They are not putting down roots, not changing that country’s demographics. Hundreds of thousands Afghans illegally migrating to Europe is another matter. Obviously the Ummah was unable or unwilling to police itself, otherwise bin Laden couldn’t have used Afghanistan as his base for planning 9/11. Oh but 9/11 was a joint CIA/Mossad op, LOL.

The notion that your citizenship could be revoked is a laugh. Never going to happen, as we both know. Even I would oppose it.

Apparently you think the idea that Muslims are the driving force in the massive Muslim migration to Europe is some form of conspiracy theory. However, the youth bulge and the poorly performing economies/job markets in Muslim lands are both real. Are you going to claim westerners are responsible? Besides the population pressure, you have an ideology (Islam) that sanctifies aggressive migration (hijra). This ideology is lacking in non-Muslim African countries, which explains why so many more from Muslim sub-saharan countries than from non-Muslim sub-Saharan countries make the trek to Europe.

On top of that is the fact that while Saudi (and Qatar) may have lower GDP than, say, Germany, their disposable wealth (not tied up for entitlements, debt service, and the like) is greater, and they (gov’t and private individuals) are using it to further the aggressive spread of Islam worldwide. I didn’t say that Soros is their tool (how could I when I have no proof), I voiced my suspicion. You are free to disagree.

Why are you deflecting the matter to Afghanistan. Everyone here knows that:
    1) Iraq and Syria and Libya had zero to do with Afghanistan, Al-Qaeda, 9/11 – nothing. Period.
    2) The tearing apart of Iraq, Syria, Libya were wars/interventions of choice
    3) #2 is what precipitated the massive refugee crisis

You cannot go back and rewrite history unless you are prepared here to publicly claim that 9/11 involved any of those three countries.

    Even I would oppose it.

Why not – don’t you like your head connected to your neck? I thought we were all scimitar-wielding maniacs? Why wouldn’t you want to revoke it and ship us out? Makes no sense unless you don’t really believe it and this is all just bluster.

However, the youth bulge and the poorly performing economies/job markets in Muslim lands are both real.

Correct – again, why did this not happen before the events I describe? These pressures were there then too.

Are you going to claim westerners are responsible?

Of course not – far be it for me to suggest the West had anything to do with those three countries been torn apart. We Muslims just like “shock-and-awe”ing our own functioning countries. I think these were Turkish or Pakistani cruise missiles or something:

Besides the population pressure, you have an ideology (Islam) that sanctifies aggressive migration (hijra).

Again, why did this not happen before the events I describe? These people were Muslim before that time too.

which explains why so many more from Muslim sub-saharan countries than from non-Muslim sub-Saharan countries make the trek to Europe.

That can be easily explained by geography as well – Muslim sub-Saharan countries are closer than the non-Muslim ones.

That Saudi is involved in spreading a more intolerant and rigid interpretation of Islam is fairly common knowledge even if it’s not talked about publicly because of their influence…and it was active for years before the immigrant crisis. Again, you are trying to avoid taking into account the major event(s) that set off the record number of migrants. Before then there was no flood of people, it was managed – one could state that the numbers were still too high, but nevertheless it was being managed.

Sorry, Talha, Arab Spring is an Arab matter foremost. Some have called it the Facebook Revolution, but actually it was even more an al Jazeera revolution, promoted by Muslim Brotherhood-supporting Emir of Qatar, in his never-ending one-upmanship with Salafist-supporting Saudi. These two Sunni countries — Saudi and Qatar — are the primary movers in the quest to overthrow Assad, each one hoping to take the credit, apart from the geostrategic struggle with Shiite Islamic Republic of Iran. And like Iran, Russia obviously cannot stand by passively and watch its only Mediterranean warship port be lost. Next, Turkey got involved out of concern over the Kurds getting into position to threaten Turkey’s territorial integrity. Western countries had been okay with Assad, he and his father largely kept the peace and did not make too much trouble abroad. (I have also read that Qatar was furious at Assad over his refusal to allow them to build a LNG pipeline through his country.)

Now, you’re right that Iraq, Lybia and Syria had nothing to do with 9/11. However, Americans’ thirst for revenge had not been slaked with the overthrow of the Taliban, hence Saddam had to go, irrational as it may have seemed. There were other reasons besides, such as the $$ signs in the eyes of the U.S. military-industrial complex, and not least the naive belief of the neocons that Iraq could be turned into a Western-friendly nation and a model for other Muslim countries to aspire to. Full disclosure: I subscribed to neocon ideology at the time. In hindsight, the people who warned against invading Iraq were probably right. Lybia, I know least about, so refrain from commenting.

Anyway, your claim that regime change (successful or attempted) in these three countries explains the massive Muslim influx into Europe (disproportionately Sweden and Germany with their insane largess) does not hold water. Many, if not most, claiming to be Syrians are anything but. Germany allowed a million-plus people into the country without any vetting whatsoever. What do Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, people from Niger, Cameroun, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Somalia, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, have to do with the three countries you mention? Afghanistan is a safer country, with a lower risk of being killed, than Brazil! Yet they came, demanding to be housed, clothed and fed. Sending them back because their asylum claims are unfounded is possible in theory, nearly impossible in practice. And next month, after the German parliamentary election, family reunification begins to ramp up. (Bigamy is not a barrier to receiving asylum, said a German court the other day!)

Why did it not happen a year earlier, or two, or three… ?

I don’t have all the answers. What seems to be clear, however, is that Erdogan decided to use his ability to turn the migration spigot on and off at will for leverage to extract money and concessions from Europe. After many years of gaining and increasing footholds in international bodies such as the UN and EU, proponents of “replacement migration” had come to feel the time was right to strike. People-smuggling networks needed time and experience to be able to move such large numbers of people. Special interests in western countries benefiting from mass immigration at the expense of the general public felt their power. And media brainwashing of impressionable westerners that they had a moral duty to “share” had gone past a critical point to weaken popular resistance.

It really is a perfect storm, an unfortunate conjunction of trends and events that spells ruin for European civilization, one of the finest to have graced the planet. Well, nothing lasts forever. I am sad, however, that if Europeans had to be supplanted, it could not have been the Chinese doing so, who at least have a genuine appreciation for European culture and could have been expected to carry on the tradition out of love and respect.

And who has been “sending” these men to Europe? The curtain is up and the machinators are on display: AIPAC, the Friends of Israel, the Israel-occupied Senate, plus the mega war profiteers (many on the US gov’t payroll) and oilmen.
Here are some informed comments on the ongoing war in Syria:
“…the entire purpose of the Syria crisis was to get the US and NATO to do a Libya on Syria. And that was just the precondition for allowing Israel to hit Hizballah in the Bekaa Valley via Syrian territory (regardless of whether that would actually work, which is problematic.) And that in turn was just the precondition for a war with Iran – which Israel would also hand over to the US to prosecute….”
    and
“… Israel’s first move would most likely be something to get Sugar Daddy directly involved, both to deal with the immediate threat and to move the outcome towards something that would in their minds justify the cost to Israel. But with the rising capabilities of Iran and the commitment of Russia to maintain their interests in the region, the stakes seem much higher than the last time Sugar Daddy got a serious war hustle from Bibi. And I think we all know who would ultimately shoulder the economic burden that would accompany the destruction of a swath of Israel.” http://turcopolier.typepad.com/sic_semper_tyrannis/2017/09/israel-vs-russia-and-hizbullah.html#comments
In short, the voracious parasitoid has been destroying the formerly functioning Iraq, Libya, and Syria to impose its mythical superiority. The destruction has been done, of course, mostly for the US expense, whether it is a lack of funds for the crumbling US infrastructure or the disastrous state of health care or the infamy of for-profit higher education. One of the results of the Middle Eastern wars is the humanitarian disaster of displaced persons, in the millions. Then there is a tsunami of tens of millions of migrants from sub-Saharan Africa, courtesy the US/NATO war crimes in Libya, which destroyed the protection of Europe from the migrants (Qaddafi’s government used to do the protection quite effectively). Add to that the weaponry that the US/EU have sent to ISIS and Al Qaeda affiliates, whereas Israel was kindly providing the “moderate” liver eaters with various medical services and moral support. http://www.voltairenet.org/article197144.html

As neighbors of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Israel necessarily have some involvement in the Syrian crisis, though none have played a significant role in the fighting, directly or indirectly (well, Hizbollah are Lebanese, but they are not carrying out government policy). Jordan especially is bravely coping with the burden of Syrian refugees (actual, not pretend, Syrians) and is receiving insufficient financial assistance from the international community. My hat’s off to them for what they do.

Israel has so far escaped being drawn into the Syrian mess. They were happy with the devil they knew (Assad) and had no reason to work for his overthrow by jihadists. Any assistance they may have given to Syrian rebels is dwarfed by the assistance the rebels have received from Turkey alone.

Is this supposed to have been a big secret? To that end Israel was one of the major players in inciting American neocons and R2Pers to push for rebellion in Syria. To that end Israel has provided direct military support to jihadis located just east of the Israeli occupied Syrian Golan Heights. Israel continues to do that in the evident hope of creating a jihadi buffer zone in Quneitra Province. … This kind of thing is a perpetual problem in dealing with the phenomenon of Israel as a factor in the ME. They continuously try to punch so far above their weight that the effect would be comic if it were not so murderously dangerous.”

I’m not dismissing your source out of hand, but everyone has their favorite retired colonels or generals with an inside track, among other sources. We differ in the weight we assign to the various pundits, inevitably this weighting is informed by our experiences and prejudices. Based on the totality of what I’ve read, I believe that Saudi and Qatar are the instigators in Syria and U.S. was following their lead, at least initially. Can’t find it now, but I remember Sec of State John Kerry reporting on a meeting with Saudi (or was it Qatar?) flat-out offering to pay U.S. — and pay very well — to put boots on the ground to overthrow Assad. Kerry declined, but you could tell he was sorely tempted. These two Gulf states hold a great deal of leverage over the U.S., from hosting American troops to buying U.S. treasuries (not to mention their armaments purchases).

I don’t think either of us is going to persuade the other to come round to their point of view, so I’ll leave it here.

Halevy went on to express concern that the defeat of ISIS might mean the “superpowers” leaving Syria, saying this would put Israel “in a hard position” after being so opposed to the survival of the Syrian government. He then said Israel will do “all we can so as to not find ourselves in such a situation,” suggesting that the Israeli military is looking at direct support for ISIS as a matter of policy, and not just rhetoric.”

But even long before that migration the tolerant Roman Catholic Kingdom of Poland received most of the Jews expelled from all other Western European states and became a true safe heaven until the II WW for the world Jewry.
