December

Christmas is coming! Funny how it is always a big surprise.
lovely star pattern by Geta Grama. Free pattern on her website. so pretty and yet so easy.

Winter is cold here, so here is my new winter jumper. Soft, fluffy alpaca.

Always handy to have plenty, big potholders. This one and its twin are for our new holiday home. picture below :)
Having a blue and white/cream colour scheme in the kitchen. New table runner.

This is the house. It is situated on an island on the west coast of Norway.
Hubbies family originate from there and he used to spend quite some time there in his childhood.
The plan is to move there permanently when he retires. In the meantime we will use it as a holiday home. It is some distance from where I live now, 8-9 hours drive, so will be used mostly for the longer vacations.

Stella hopes everyone has a warm advent :)

Autumn

Temperatures creeping down. Darker evenings and mornings. Leaves changing their colours and floating gently on the wind. Birds gathering, getting ready for their long haul to warmer places.

My fingers hate the cold. Supersoft alpaca to keep my hands warm until I have to get my thick mittens out. My ears don't like the cold either, so this hat will help when I go out with Stella. It is really pale green alpaca silk. Hope it doesn't make my ears itch.

A warm jumper for a little friend from Eritrea - just the thing for the kindergarten.

And I have finally got round to sewing again. I have made 4 of these place mats. (Pattern by Gudrun Erla). Good way to use up some of the pretty scraps I can't bring myself to throw out.

Stella's favourite place on chilly mornings. The darker it gets, the longer she wants to stay under the covers.

Enjoy October wherever you are; cooling down or warming up :)

Summertime

Here again! and it is Summer!
We are having the most fantastic summer this year, weeks of hot, sunny weather!
And I have had a wonderful time so far :)

We started off with my Great-niece's confirmation. I made a quilt for her and she was very happy with it. And at last I can reveal the secret.

And then I had to make a new bag for a little holiday in Oxford, UK. I just love poppies. And it is big enough for my passport, tickets, purse, kindle etc.

I travelled to see my son's graduation at Balliol College. He has finished his Ex.MBA and I am so proud of him.

We had a great week together. Visiting colleges and museums, cream teas and of course the magnificent Blenheim Palace. I could have wandered around there for days, so much to see in the palace and the gardens.

Another shot from the Great Hall of Balliol College.

I could bore you to tears with pics from Oxford, but I won't. Maybe I will share some more another time.
At our last guild meeting we made owl pincushions and I had the pleasure of showing how to make them. These two are mine,

When it is hot or when I am traveling, I like to have some light work nearby. So I have some new washcloths.

I hope you are having fun days whether it is hot or cool wherever you are.

Testing

Spring?
This is a photo of last months OPAM finish. It is still needed!
Tomorrow is May 1st and the weather forecast for this district is snow!
It will turn into rain eventually, but it says something about the temperature at the moment. I was hoping for warmer weather, but it is most likely my own fault for changing to summer tires on our car:)

And this is a test to see if I could post from my Ipad. I can use photos from my phone.
I can't find out how to change the colours of the text .... yet.
So I need new photos of this month's finish. On my phone .... I do hope my Mac will wake up again soon :)

Winter

Winter! And it is really cold and snowy this year. Minus 15 centigrade this morning!
Most of my finishes are therefore o help us stay warm :)

My sister liked the mittens I made for Christmas, so here is a pair for her, too.

A new woolly hat for me for when I take the dog out.

And here is a bit of fun! I was given a block of Moda's Cake Mix Recipe cards. So easy and quick to make and it turned out to be a new cushion cover. I attended a weekend course to learn how to quilt with rulers. that was fun and the result on the cushion cover looks fine (from afar :) ) Needs a lot of practice, me thinks :)

And of course, DH has to keep warm and I think this alpaca jumper is just right for that. I nearly melted while knitting it :)

and, Stella in her favourite place - that is when she isn't on my lap helping me with my knitting or sewing ....

And thanks to Peggy and Kris for starting up OPAM 2018 - another year of fun and beautiful projects.
See you!

Been busy

It’s that time of year ! I have been quite busy and still have more to get done - will have to see how far I get.  I enjoy making a few C...
