Been busy

It’s that time of year !
I have been quite busy and still have more to get done - will have to see how far I get.  I enjoy making a few Christmas gifts for family and friends, makes the dark months cosy and bright.
I must admit this first pair of mittens are for me. Designer Jorid Linvik makes a mystery knit-a-long and I have joined in four times. I love the pattern and they are so warm in alpacca wool.

This pair is a present someone has on a wishlist :)

Another scarf (the pale one) both are now wrapped and ready for a new hjome.
While I was in the flow, I ran up Christmas curtains for my kitchen.
A woolly hat to keep ears nice and warm. It’s -10C here at the

Another scarf, this was a birthday gift to a friend.

So that was it for now, and the little elves are still working.
I hope you remember to slow down and take time for a cuppa and to enjoy the festive season!

Halloween

It is Halloween today, not that we do much of it as the tradition is rather new in Norway. Kids have cottoned on to the trick and treat part, so I do have a bowl of sweets ready.  Although we may miss them as we have to take our guest home this evening.
Our son’s lab Tommy has been with us for a few days. He is as good as gold, but we were a bit anxious as Tommy and our Stella had never met previously.
As long as he kept to his bed on the floor, she was happy. And he was happy sleeping with his flock. :)

And they enjoyed walks in the woods.
So maybe we can all be together for Christmas :)
I haven’t been able to do much this month. I managed to slice a piece off a finger on my right hand and it has taken ages to heal.  So sewing has been out of bounds, but I have managed to knit a couple of scarves (design: Bitta Mikkelborg) - thick wool and needles. The blue one is a Christmas present and the rust one is for me. Starting to get chilly now, so it will be nice and warm when I take Stella out.

If you are trick and treating this evening - have fun!

Autumn vacation 2

Another view from our mountain hike.
And imagine; the government wants to fill spaces like this with giant windmills. These mountains are right in flight paths for migrating birds, including endangered species. Eagles that live in this area will be in constant danger.  Mountains are already lost, some, this one included, we have a small hope of saving.
Our Indian summer came to an end, and more typical Autumn weather has taken over.
I love the changing sky and sea, mountains seem to disappear and then rise out of the mist.
Nice to be indoors with a fire, a cuppa and some knitting. :)
Hugs

Autumn vacation

It is our Autumn vacation and we are back at our holiday home. The first week has been amazing, beautiful sunshine and warm weather.
Last Sunday, we decided on a mountain walk, 637 metres above sealevel (!). There is a gravel road all the way to the top, but was still very steep going. But after a couple of hours we were rewarded with the most wonderful views.

End of summer ..

Darker evenings, colder mornings
Still sunshine and warm days,
Schools start again and routines are back
Summer is almost over.

New tablemats. The colours in the photo are terrible - they are more pink really.

A friend has a new baby - a beautiful little girl. I rushed to deliver bonnets, trousers and blanket and forgot to take a photo :( , but here is the jacket - just need a ribbon in the wa
ist.  Easy to knit once I managed to count to six :)) .
The first set I made was for a newborn, so now I am already knitting something bigger - don’t the little mites grow fast :)

Evening view from our holiday home. I love skies :)

Hoping you all have a good September whether it is getting cooler or warmer.

Bye!

Summer news

We have been spending the summer at our holiday home. Very busy painting the house, but I had to do some sewing :) My new bag:
And my new clutch:

 Two pretty pincushions

We have also used some time getting our boat ready - ended up getting a new outboard motor, but at least it is safe to use now.
And we have had glorious weather.

I hope you have had a great July. I

April and Easter

I saw a cute basket last month on Mini-Archies furtling and had to try to make one.
It is called Bloem basket and the pattern is by Johanna Weidner.
I am quite happy with it and is just right for the odds and ends I seem to accumulate at my bedside.

I made this wallhanging for the kitchen in our holiday home.

This is where we have our holiday home. We spent Easter here and had marvelous weather.
We went for a walk at Easter and look at the cute birds we found. They are made of wool and are part of a culture trail with  surprises along the way.

Getting ready for summer now - and the weather forecast says sleet and degrees about zero!
Glad I haven't planted anything out yet. ;)
