Bags for kids on holiday:o) My grandchildren are going on holiday (me, too) on Saturday. So I made a lightweight backpack for him and a more ladylike bag for her. I've got some bits and pieces to put in them - small surprises for when they get bored with traveling. We will only be away a week, but we are going to have fun!!
I hope you have a nice week, too.

more finishes
My sister is soon off to China with her son and his family to pick up another grandchild. They have waited so long and now the time draws near.
I have made her a little quilt, backed with soft, white fleece. Just the thing to snuggle in on a long flight home. My first go at sewing triangles on paper - pure magic!
They are all very excited, especially the little girl who has waited so long for a sister. She can hardly wait. So I made her a bag from the same fabric for her odds and ends on her journey.
This finish is for my granddaughter. I'm so glad the pattern is rather large as I took ages to get it done. Should keep her warm on chilly summer evenings.
This month is turning out rather well, I think!

Having fun!
I think they must be some sort of rabbit .... I started out with one ...
But then the grandies saw it and they loved the film, too ..... ("My neighbour, Totoro"), so .......
4 of them will arrive at their new home today. I hope the kids are pleased with them.
And yes, I must admit I'm a bag lady :o). This is a nice messenger bag for that little extra shopping you didn't know you were going to get. It can be reversed too, so 2 for 1.
And then my sister saw it (I teased her with a pic on my mobile) .. and then I had to make another, didn't I?
Something else I'm having fun with. Will show when it's done.
I've also been getting on with some knitting that has been collecting dust .... maybe I'll get some more WISP's done now I'm on a roll. And for every project completed, I can start a new one, right?

Back to the iron-age!
We live in an area that has a rich history and lots of finds from the iron-age. DH's school is right next to multiple gravemounds. This house is an iron-age house built on the actual site of an iron-age longhouse.
Each year his school has an iron-age day. The pupils invite younger pupils from this area and tell them about the past.
Bread on a stick,
grilled fish,
heating stones
that were put in holes in the ground. One was for baking fish and the other had meat in it.
Not quite iron-age footwear, but they did get the work done ..
the kiln,
one of the gravemounds near the longhouse
iron-age lawn-mowers,
a glimpse inside the longhouse. Inside, students and teachers and local crafters demonstrated crafts that existed in the iron-age; weaving, felting, making jewellery etc.
Next year I must get photos of that .. I didn't think the pics would turn out so good, because it was very dark inside. And of course, I am careful about getting pupils on film.
The school has been doing this for about 20 years - and this was the first year it rained. It poured down! But the kids were interested and happy anyway! I enjoyed myself, too.
