Unplugged!

It's the end of June and I should be posting about my finishes for June. BUT - my Mac died and my I-pad hates blogger or maybe the other way round. So no photos!!

And I did have cute finishes to show - a little pouch for my handbag, a larger pouch with a window so you can see what is inside - and MC-socks I knitted for DH 60th birthday! And very pleased he was!

The rest of the month disappeared in tidying and cleaning .... and I can't even show how tidy my sewing room is!
Oh well, I suppose I shall just have to keep trying and in the end I will find a way to trick blogger into letting me post photos. Until then, enjoy summer or winter, according to where you are.
Happy sewing!

April done

I was in spring mode at Easter, hoping for sunny, warm weather
So I made dinner mats and a tablecloth to use on our patio table - bright summery colours..
The fabric makes me happy
which is good as April has been really chilly and I am still waiting for the chance to use them outdoors :)
2 knitted kitchen cloths for MIL's birthday.
 Have a lovely May 1st weekend :-)

March finishes

We thought spring was here to stay - and woke up to this a couple of days ago (not fair!)

So my new woolly hat will get some use before I can put it away ..... alpaca wool, soft and doesn't itch :-)

Aren't these pouches cute? This year's Easter eggs for the grandies, easier to send by mail. Secret inside :-)

Happy Easter everyone! Hope you all get to see the sun! (And we want it back, too!!)

Last finishes for February

These socks have been on the needles since before Christmas, so my husband was pleased when he finally got them :-)    (Pattern from Bitta's book of socks).
Son #2 was very pleased when he got his placemats with Totoro on - but he had thought I had made finger mittens because he had talked about the pattern some time ago. So what does a mum do??
I found the pattern on Ravelry (Brella's blue totoro mitten chart) and redid the pattern to what I needed.
And if you haven't heard of Totoro, the film is "My neighbor Totoro" from Studio Ghibli and kids all ages love it!!

February behind us and straight on to March winds. Really windy here today and snow in the air.
But that doesn't matter today as it is the last day of the World Championship in cross-country skiing.
I am not a sports nut, but this is exciting!! So off to find something to knit or sew ... have my alibi in order :-)
Bye for now!

Happy year of the goat!
Time to fill our Chinese golden bowl with goodies again. Good wishes for the new year to my Chinese friends.
New winter jumper - good to have now she has shed her long fur - so silly mid-winter!

My sister saw the photo of my Sew-together bag and fell in love with it. So this one went to stay with her in the south of Norway.
Along with some mug rugs made out of scraps. Felt good using up scraps instead of making more ...

It was our annual meeting at the quilt guild yesterday and shop called "Lille stasjon" came to visit.
Lynette Anderson fabrics found their way home with me - I know it is a long time til Christmas comes around again, but these fabrics put ideas in my head ....
The small packet contains 5 fat quarters named "Vero's world". I haven't seen them here before. I got them because it was Veronique (lives in France) who got me interested in needleturn appliqué. Her designs are country style and very cute. And I love the soft colours. And the dog :-)

I will take a close-up of the fabric when I have opened the packet. Now I must decide on what I want to make :-) for the time being I am happy just stroking :-)

Friday Night With Friends

FNWF; started a new jumper for my dog, Edda. It is still really cold and she has just shed her fur (you would think she would wait for better weather!). So I have started, but it is slow going due to a bad shoulder. I hope I get it done before spring :-)

Sewing again

January almost gone - and I have signed up for another OPAM year !
4 placemats for son #2 who has moved into a larger flat and has a dining table now! I have appliquéd
a Totoro on each one - we both think he is cute.
And I have made the "Sew Together Bag" by SewDemented - 4 zippers! I impressed myself! And of course, my sister saw the photo and said "I want one". So I must brave the zippers again. :-)
2 washcloths and 5 make-up remover pads. Patterns from the book "Kluter" by Bitta Mikkelborg.
Nice to have light and small projects on the needles as I have a torn ligament in my shoulder and knitting doesn't seem to help - but I do just a little at a time. Can't imagine not knitting!
Still winter here and more snow in the air today. But we brave snow, ice and several degrees below zero for our daily walks. She is not really fond of getting cold paws, so I guess she might need some socks - more knitting to do :-)
Bye now!

First finish 2015

My biker husband needed a woolly hat to go with his mittens.
Too cold and snowy to use the bike - it is in winter storage until spring, so he must make do with his hat and mittens for a while.

My lovely blogland friend, Di, sent me these beauties for Christmas. I just love everything! Santa needle cushion, the tiny sock and the lovely sewing pouch filled with useful bits and goodies :-) Thankyou so much, Di!
I meant to get the picture out earlier, but my phone and mac have stopped communicating so I had to take new photos.

Hope you all have a fun weekend!

THE LAST OF OPAM 2014
 MC mittens for my husband
Woollen slippers for son #2 (and so pleased)
Potholders for same son (has moved and has a proper kitchen now, so potholders were on his xmas wish list, funny kid)

I also made 2 Granny square table toppers, one for my sister and one for my mother-in-law. And I kept one for me, too (the one in an earlier post).

We have had guests for the holidays, lots of fun and catching up, and now quieter days are ahead and my #1 job is to try and get my workroom back in order. Papers, patterns, fabric, yarn and cake tins piled on every surface doesn't invite creativity and there is so much I want to do :-)

I wish you all the best for 2015 and hope you remember to have fun!

Been busy

It’s that time of year ! I have been quite busy and still have more to get done - will have to see how far I get.  I enjoy making a few C...
