It’s that time of year !
I have been quite busy and still have more to get done - will have to see how far I get. I enjoy making a few Christmas gifts for family and friends, makes the dark months cosy and bright.
I must admit this first pair of mittens are for me. Designer Jorid Linvik makes a mystery knit-a-long and I have joined in four times. I love the pattern and they are so warmAnne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-60250851366238161172019-10-31T10:25:00.000+01:002019-10-31T10:29:44.716+01:00Halloween
It is Halloween today, not that we do much of it as the tradition is rather new in Norway. Kids have cottoned on to the trick and treat part, so I do have a bowl of sweets ready. Although we may miss them as we have to take our guest home this evening.
Our son’s lab Tommy has been with us for a few days. He is as good as gold, but we were a bit anxious as Tommy and our Stella had never Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-88942324212869398702019-10-01T11:07:00.001+02:002019-10-01T11:07:32.097+02:00Autumn vacation 2
Another view from our mountain hike.
And imagine; the government wants to fill spaces like this with giant windmills. These mountains are right in flight paths for migrating birds, including endangered species. Eagles that live in this area will be in constant danger. Mountains are already lost, some, this one included, we have a small hope of saving.

It is our Autumn vacation and we are back at our holiday home. The first week has been amazing, beautiful sunshine and warm weather.
Last Sunday, we decided on a mountain walk, 637 metres above sealevel (!). There is a gravel road all the way to the top, but was still very steep going. But after a couple of hours we were rewarded with the most wonderful views.

Summer is almost over.
New tablemats. The colours in the photo are terrible - they are more pink really.

Very busy painting the house, but I had to do some sewing :) My new bag:
And my new clutch:
Two pretty pincushions
We have also used some time getting our boat ready - ended up getting a new outboard motor, but at least it is safe to use now.
And we have had glorious weather.

I saw a cute basket last month on Mini-Archies furtling and had to try to make one.
It is called Bloem basket and the pattern is by Johanna Weidner.
I am quite happy with it and is just right for the odds and ends I seem to accumulate at my bedside.
I made this wallhanging for the kitchen in our holiday home.
This is where we have our holiday home. Spring is finally here. The snow is melting fast. And we are officially on summertime.
I must just alter the clocks that don't change automatically, or I will be in trouble.
This is a bread bag son #2 ordered. He likes to keep his breadrolls warm for his weekend breakfasts. It is lined and has insulation batting. he is very happy :)

I am really enjoying Entrelac knitting. Here is nr 2, made for a friend. Even if days are lighter and brighter, the air can still be quite cold.
I attended a great workshop hosted by my local quilting guild. We made a cute tablerunner designed and taught by Patricia Iden. It was fun learning how to embroider by machine.
It is our winter holiday, we are at our holiday home on the west Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-67856093625231925472019-01-31T11:52:00.000+01:002019-01-31T11:52:56.012+01:00Keeping busy ....
Our sewing group had a January meeting. We usually do handsewing as that is easy to carry, but this time we decided to drag our machines along. My new make-up bag! And I see a thread I forgot to snip off ....
I joined an on-line knit-along to learn entrelac knitting. Never done it before, but real fun.
And addictive, so no 2 is in progress.

December not as productive as I planned, but I did get a few Christmas presents done. 3 wooly hats for small friends. One was already under the tree when I remembered I hadn’t taken a photo 🙄
The hat on the right is mine - so soft and warm.
I also made some more stars, have used them as decorations on the dining table.
So that was 2018. New opportunities await.
Happy New Year!!

Winter is cold here, so here is my new winter jumper. Soft, fluffy alpaca.

Temperatures creeping down. Darker evenings and mornings. Leaves changing their colours and floating gently on the wind. Birds gathering, getting ready for their long haul to warmer places.
My fingers hate the cold. Supersoft alpaca to keep my hands warm until I have to get my thick mittens out. My ears don't like the cold either, so this hat will help when I go out with Stella. We are having the most fantastic summer this year, weeks of hot, sunny weather!
And I have had a wonderful time so far :)
We started off with my Great-niece's confirmation. I made a quilt for her and she was very happy with it. And at last I can reveal the secret.
And then I had to make a new bag for a little holiday in Oxford, UK. Spring?
This is a photo of last months OPAM finish. It is still needed!
Tomorrow is May 1st and the weather forecast for this district is snow!
It will turn into rain eventually, but it says something about the temperature at the moment. I was hoping for warmer weather, but it is most likely my own fault for changing to summer tires on our car:)
And this is a test to see if IAnne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-53215661487778188162018-02-28T12:55:00.000+01:002018-02-28T12:56:07.490+01:00Winter
Winter! And it is really cold and snowy this year. Minus 15 centigrade this morning!
Most of my finishes are therefore o help us stay warm :)
My sister liked the mittens I made for Christmas, so here is a pair for her, too.
A new woolly hat for me for when I take the dog out.
And here is a bit of fun! I was given a block of Moda's Cake Mix Recipe cards. November and December have been very busy months, but I haven't got as much sewing or knitting done as I would have normally.
First off our youngest son decided to move back to Norway. He has lived abroad a few years, but landed a new job in Oslo. As he was still abroad it meant my husband and I went to several flat viewings, time consuming, but we found a good one in time :)
Next was a Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-16700399677235665142017-11-01T12:55:00.000+01:002017-11-01T12:55:01.199+01:00October
Halloween is over, each year we get a few vampires, witches and werewolves knocking at our door. So I had some treats ready to hand out. I did wonder what Stella would make of them, but she was just excited visitors were at the door.
The weather has turned colder, snow has covered the highest mountains in the distance. Pretty, but it can stay there :)
Stella doesn't usually care about Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-29634599141853980582017-09-30T11:38:00.001+02:002017-09-30T11:38:12.302+02:00DEFINITELY AUTUMN
I love Autumn.
Beautiful colours and a sharpness in the air.
Damp and crispy leaves under foot.
Time to wind down and plan ahead.
So this month I have something to show at last.
It has been slow going with a bad shoulder and back to back headaches.
But for the last 3 weeks I have stopped eating sugar and flour and I feel much better, despite cloudy weather which usually is a Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-76829840165787457822017-05-30T18:31:00.000+02:002017-05-30T18:31:11.390+02:00

Time flies and I have been busy, but nothing finished to show for Opam :(
We thought Spring had arrived, but woke up to this after we collected our MC from winter storage!
Not very happy about this ....
Thankfully it didn't last and we could go for nice walks in the woods again. Now we are just waiting for temperatures to rise and the sun to shine. I don't think we will Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-62105162339041034372017-03-31T12:22:00.003+02:002017-03-31T12:22:47.218+02:00March marched on ...
I love spring ... and am still waiting for it :)
We have had a few days of sun and warm winds that suddenly disappeared in a flurry of white again.
Just the last of winter I hope.
I belong to a sewing group that meet up every couple of weeks to sew and natter. Mostly hand sewing because then we can all sit around the table together. Last time we made thread catchers. I thinkAnne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4556194897233201972.post-72223614771154477702017-02-28T11:13:00.001+01:002017-02-28T11:13:07.976+01:00Opam begins
Not exactly knitted or sewn, but certainly plenty of fabric :))
It's a snuffle mat for my dog. I hide treats in the folds and she has to sniff them out. At the moment it's her favourite toy.
So pleased Opam is running again this year. Thank you Peggy and Kris. Hopefully there will be more to post soon as some things are nearing the finish line (at last).

One finish: the 1-hour basket (Pattern by Hearts and Bees). I must admit it took me a bit longer, but now I know how to sew it I think I can do it quicker next time. I got the fabric when in Austria last spring and have wondered what it would turn in to. I do love owls :)
I have been using quite a bit of time with this little missy the last few weeks. Meet Stella 6 yrs old. Anne-Lise at Rag, Tag, Bobtailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17395128085546467047[email protected]1
