My joy was shortlived - apparently only I could see the photos. So here's another go:
My sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Their costumes are from the same district.
Another sister-in-law from a different district.
Happy girl!

My weekend + a finish.
It's confirmation time.
In Norway nearly every 15 year old is confirmed. Traditionally a church ceremony (the Church of Norway is Lutheran), latter years have seen the growth of an alternative choice in a humanist tradition. The passing of childhood and the beginning of adulthood is celebrated in church or concerthall with family and friends.
So in April/May you can see gatherings of people in traditional costumes. The costumes are meant to show where you or your family come from as they vary from place to place. It is very popular for the girls to have their costume made for their confirmation day.
This weekend we celebrated our niece's confirmation day.

It's a good opportunity to gather the family. We all live some distance apart and don't see each other often.

The costumes are often made of wool and the embroideries are handmade. Lots of beautiful work!
My mother-in-law embroidered our niece's costume.
Picture trouble!
Something is very wrong - I have no idea what I have done, so I thought I'd seek advice from the big "out there".
I have started using Picasa - so many fun things to do with pictures. That is, if you can get them posted. When I try to import photos from camera to pc, the camera battery goes flat!
So if any of you have an inkling about what is going on, please let me know! (And why isn't that camera flashing?)
I'm not giving up though ... I will be back!

We have a winner ...
Congratulations! E-mail me your address and I'll send your prize asap.
My Friday night sew-in project was starting on the Catalicious bom no 3.
I love stitching - so relaxing. Just the ticket after putting the little angels to bed.
Another give away at Quilting in the sunshine state. Check it out - smashing fabrics.
Hope you all have a nice week-end- lots of sewing and fun.
Cheerio!

Yes, I know, Easter is over, but I'm still hopping around. Over Easter we closed our EFT-clinic and had to pack and move and wash - puh! DH is now renting a room at another clinic 2 evenings a week instead. That way he has to slow down a bit and we save money. When he has finished his master degree we'll decide if we want to reopen our own place. We certainly have all we need to do that. Our house and garage are now ready to burst! I am therefore using (too much) time washing and tidying - just plain trying to find room for everything!
So, not so much sewing at the moment. I have done a bit of knitting in the evenings and hope to finish the bolero soon.
I suddenly found out I had missed my first blogoversary - but this blog is no 99! So keep an eye out for no 100 - maybe something nice for you?
Enjoy your week end - with good weather, time to relax and a taste of chocolate ....
