Haris’s review published on Letterboxd:
I don’t remember the last time I had this tough of a time deciding on what rating to give a film. This was brilliant in so many ways, but also flawed in many others. You can see the influence of several classics here (particularly Se7en, The Silence of the Lambs, Zodiac and The Shining) — yet it still does enough to remain original in its own right. The atmosphere Perkins creates here alongside the sense of dread and mystery in the story had me hooked all throughout. The script is pretty convoluted at points — especially in the back half of the film where some of the holes are so very obvious, but the highs over the course of the film are enough for me to mostly recommend this.
