Yesterday, I was supposed to go to the cinema with a couple of mates to watch Alien Romulus, but I couldn't make it. Afterward, they were all completely disappointed by it, calling it a young-adult fantasy horror with the worst ending of the year. That made me decide to watch something else.

Longlegs is a slow-burner, but it kept me fully engaged the entire time. At first, it clearly gives off Silence of the Lambs vibes, but soon the movie shifts direction, becoming more and more of a mystery. When Agent Lee goes through the newspaper archive, there's a moment where I suddenly thought this movie might be a hidden Conjuring installment because of an article titled "The Devil Made Me Do It." Nothing else suggests it, but if they were to reveal in the future that it's part of the franchise, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

The acting and storytelling were impressive. The camera work was partly brilliant and partly flawed, but overall, it was a great movie and definitely worth watching on the big screen.
