I was mostly on board with this satanic Silence of the Lambs reskin until that last unsatisfying and goofy 10 minutes. I loved the cinematography, production design, Maika Monroe’s autistic-coded character and it's always a treat when Alicia Witt pops up in anything, but honestly…Nic Cage was a little too campy for such a dour movie. I had a hard time not seeing the character as another big, deadpan-camp Cage performance. Not outright 'bad', but it took me out of the 3rd act. I've never really vibed with Osgood Perkin's writing and thought this would be the one where he locked it in for me. Nope.
