There is no one cuter than lil petey
]]>Never trust a man named Chad
]]>This should’ve been 110% my jam. Kinda devastated this didn’t totally work for me.
]]>I truely cannot believe how incompetent all these people were at their jobs. I love a low budget old SciFi!
]]>The Alto Knights is a slow-burn film that takes its time setting the stage, but once it finds its rhythm, it pulls you in and keeps you hooked.
With vibes reminiscent of The Irishman and Casino, the movie taps into that classic gangster narrative that I love and if you have the patience there’s some enjoyable stuff here.
I’ll never complain about DeNiro in a gangster film, but unfortunately the dual performance didn’t work for me, mainly due to poor makeup work. I cannot understand why an older man would want to put himself through hours of prosthetics everyday, why not cast another actor?
The overall plot was also tough to follow, but comes together enough in the end if you’re willing to stick through it.
I’ve come to expect so little from these Disney remakes, but Snow White is genuinely great!
This reimagining of the classic tale has been updated for modern audiences, and the story changes, along with the new songs, make it feel like a fresh, new musical.
Rachel Zegler is perfect, delivering a true movie star performance with effortless charm. The only major weak link for me was Gal Gadot’s campy over the top performance, which didn’t quite work.
Easily the best live-action remake so far (although keep in mind this bar was incredibly low)
]]>Basically a poor man’s version of As Above So Below, or even The Descent.
There’s a few major reasons why this didn’t work for me:
- I generally just hate documentary style/ talking heads films. If this had just been a found footage movie I’m guessing I would’ve liked it more. Everytime we went back to these narrators it broke the tension completely.
- The aforementioned movies are just so well done and this doesn’t hold up in comparison.
- Fairly formulaic and doesn’t bring anything new to the genre. It also takes a while to get going, and then nothing much happens. Lots of shakes cam and poor visually, I just wish we’d had more of a glimpse at what was in the tunnels.
]]>Deserves 5 stars for how revolutionary it was as a piece of art, and still well and truely holds up today.
My only major gripe is the lack of fun catchy songs that other Disney films have.
This review may contain spoilers.
Highlight of the movie was easily Colman Domingos tiny cameo…
]]>Nothing like a scheming and conniving queen! All hail eve
]]>Espionage at its best! Completely driven by dialog and tension, instead of the typical action spy thriller we’ve come to expect from this genre.
Super tight at 90 mins, sexy cast, and a few great twists! Really enjoyed this one.
I am once again concerned by how attracted I am to this man…
]]>Idgaf I love these movies!
]]>An accurate film on the stresses of living paycheck to paycheck
]]>“You’re my soulmate”
1. I guess all movies about parents fuck me up now.
2. There’s not enough great movies about fathers.
3. There’s even less about adult children and their relationship to their parents!
I adored this. I also cannot stop crying.
]]>First time watching with my kids ❤️
This probably has my favourite ending of any of the movies.
]]>Feels like it would be life changing if I had an office job
]]>I wish I was having a hurricane party right now, instead I’m entertaining 2 small kids while I wait for a cyclone to hit…
]]>BEST PICTURE WINNER ANORA
]]>The GOAT of investigation movies!
]]>Idk why anyone would ever want to join a frat tbh
]]>A tad predictable but I loved the genre mashing of RomCom and slasher! Love when movies are this fun.
]]>Robert Pattinson is such a freak and I LOVE it!
This started sooooo strong! But I should’ve known that Bong Joon Ho is far more interested in the political commentary of his films, over exploring interesting SciFi concepts. A teeny bit disappointed but I should’ve known better.
I loved everything up until the third act which felt narratively disjointed to me… but maybe that’s because I wanted more SciFi. A ton of great cartoonish political stuff, and Pattinson bringing all the charm, charisma and craziness we could hope for.
Another win for Bong, and easily my favourite of his English films.
]]>Perfect movie for Oscar’s eve!
]]>“I guess I’ve still got some more healing to do.”
Perfect portrayal of how family drives us crazy while simultaneously healing us ❤️
]]>I feel like an idiot for not realising how dumb this was gonna be…
]]>Maybe it’s just because I’m a mother (more likely that it’s just a brilliant film) but this hit me like a ton of bricks!
The unimaginable trauma this family goes through and the mothers patience, strength and perseverance was something to behold.
Particularly felt the ending (both time jumps) really brought the whole movie together and I was crying like a baby by the end.
Just the cutest ever??
]]>1. HOW THE FUCK DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS MOVIE????
2. How is Maya Erskine not a bigger star????
What can I say?? Literally everything I want out of a RomCom. Friends to lovers trope, maximum banter and chemistry, and super fun. It sounds simple but RomComs are rarely this good.
]]>Feeling like a absolute dumbass for not realising what a fuckin MASTER Bong Joon Ho is!
]]>To the surprise of absolutely nobody my favourite part of this was Hugh Grant, aka that dirty bitch.
Seriously though this movie really pulls on your heartstrings and I was an absolute puddle of tears several times. I adored it.
]]>Didn’t expect this to make me reflect on my own relationship as a mother, and my relationship to my mother but here we are.
Beautifully shot and an exceptional performance from Pamela Anderson. She’s a STARRRR
Considering Zodiac is my favourite movie it’s shocking I haven’t watched this until now.
Can we get dropkicks in every movie?
]]>Cute sisterhood story but ultimately a little uneventful
]]>I wish I could say that I feel like the film swayed my opinion on the death penalty (for which I truely don’t know where I stand), but once again I’m just left me grateful I live in Australia where these kind of heinous crimes and laws don’t exist.
]]>Once again asking why the hell Jake Gyllenhaal doesn’t have an Oscar!
]]>My kinda RomCom
]]>Another great entry for the “if you don’t like this, you don’t like fun” movie cannon.
]]>Wanted to do a rewatch before seeing The Monkey and unfortunately was even more frustrated this time around.
The supernatural elements just don’t work for me, especially when surrounded by such a grounded film that takes itself so seriously. Ultimately the twist is uninteresting and definitely not scary, and I find myself incredibly disappointed.
I also need someone to explain the whole Nicolas Cage thing to me. I’m ride or die Cage but I’m not understanding why the filmmakers made this bizarre choice to include such a kooky character. Genuinely need answers.
“The Gorge is the Door to Hell. And we’re standing guard at the gate.”
This was truely a ton of fun!
First up give me more horror romances! The chemistry between Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy was electric, and really elevated the whole story. I was fully rooting for them the whole time and hoping they’d find their happy ending.
The blend of horror and SciFi worked well, ultimately the gorge reveal was a little predictable and I was hoping for a different outcome but it works well enough.
Might’ve even gone a higher score if I wasn’t forced to watch this over 5 different sittings. Thanks kids.
]]>I just love campy old superhero films!!!!
]]>Maybe a hot take but this is the best of the three. It’s also the most romantic.
Maybe I’m just cynical, but this is the kinda love and commitment that everyone dreams of.
It’s an MCU movie so of course I had fun! While its nowhere near top-tier MCU, it totally nails the political intrigue vibes we love from Cap films. Anthony Mackie and the entire ensemble were incredible, bringing so much heart to the movie. I’m hopeful for the future of the MCU.
]]>Beautiful visual storytelling but a little too much symbolism for me to fully vibe with it.
]]>I am constantly amazed at how humans can be so cruel and honestly pure evil. An important piece of journalism and story that needs to be told, but the pacing really hurts the film unfortunately.
]]>All I can ever think about in these movies is how I’d handle the situation… and inevitably they make me feel incapable as shit. I’d be dead in a heartbeat.
There’s some good stuff here but it’s soooo tonally all over the place. I kinda wish it leant more into the body horror stuff, and was less heavy handed on the domestic family drama stuff.
]]>Truely one of the most immersive film experiences I’ve ever had, hauntingly feels like you’re in the film experiencing these horrors with the boys. The pov style took a while to warm upto, but once I did I was all in.
]]>So this film basically cured my depression…
]]>The way I could listen to them talk for HOURS!
]]>This could’ve never happened to me because I’m unable to stay awake past midnight.
]]>Movies that moved me so much I was ugly crying…
